***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

@TheSwede don't know if you've done it yet, but once you've finished the UC Vanguard questline you can take on radiant missions that take you to a bunch of different planetary locations around Alpha Centauri and Cheyenne - they quite often lead to crashed ships and these are completely different ships to the ones you find just flying around in space (one of the ones I found looked like the Frontier).

Nice ship BTW - looks kinda familiar... ;)

Interesting mod. I find myself in a love/hate relationship with the ship builder. It's pretty restrictive, isn't clear with what the habs look like and I don't know if it's just me being an imbecile but the camera controls are super wacky.

I agree with you. It be fun next year when the modders get their hands on the creation kit for the game ! In regards to the habs though, I found this article over at reddit where someone had gone through all habs and taking pictures of them. Not quiet the same as walking through them yourself but still, it at least gives an idea how they all look ?

That's an amazing resource, thank you!

Soo.. a few more fun things happened.. well, sort of !

First, a quest got buggered so had to restart it. I was suppose to collect some samples from some wild animals, and the forth one I needed decided it was going to become a mole and hence avoid me from collecting the last sample !

So had to restart the quest and get a new one. Same planet but only 3 samples this time and not 4, so hoping it wont be the same glitch there ! Since.. ahem.. I got side tracked on my way back. Saw a planet with a location Safe House Gamma and I just had to land and explore it. Wasn't nothing to exciting in the end but when we got out we bumped into an old friend, a Terrormorph !

The funny thing is my companion right now is Major Hadrian Sanon and she didn't say a beep when that Terrormorph showed up ?! Considering the major part that animal played in an earlier quest, and slightly do still, you would have thought she would have said SOMETHING ?!?

Anyway, it is as it is as well as it being a Bethesda game ! :p

Same planet ran into some stranded people and they were asking for water, which I thought I be kind and get for them but..

Seems my home made Distilled Water was not good enough for them ?? Does it have to be sparkling water ??

And lastly, I didn't know you could squeeze two helmet into a display case ??

But to be honest, I haven't tried since I assumed only one was possible ??

I never saw a Terramorph on my whole playthough. I also never saw a heavy weapon like the one that annoying guy has in the pirate mission where you get cut off from wotshisface, Salgado?

I don't think I want to carry on with the NG+, feels weird. Would rather just start a new playthrough.

Oh sorry I meant the Terrormorph. Not sure which heavy weapon you mean. You on about the head honcho for Crimson Fleet? I've only just started that quest line

Ohhhhh. Well, I did fight a big alien in the same mission I'm talking about where the guy had some weird heavy weapon but I can't remember if that was a terrormorph.

You will get to a mission later on where you will see the weapon I'm talking about with the fleet. I think it was like a minigun but laser.

Really? I fought one on the first planet I landed on, which was Gagarin. I was only about level 3.

I think there is only one guaranteed one, if you avoid the faction that involves them? When the MQ puts you on Kreet near the beginning, after you finish the pirate lair, look for another structure nearby - it's probably the only one the scanner will pick up. There's one there, presumably the one that escaped from the secret facility you just cleared (and hopefully read the logs at).

Nice little official end of year overview and update from Bethesda.

Also, looks like they track everything in everyone's game. Must have been some more interesting metrics for the info graphic.

We're also excited to be adding all new Gameplay options. With these new settings you'll be able to alter your gameplay to allow for an easier or more challenging experience that will expand beyond our normal "Difficulty" setting. These will allow you to easily customize carry capacity, cargo access distance, ship damage, vendor credits, how you suffer afflictions, new survival mechanics, and more.

Fair enough :D You've definitely pushed those average player hours up though lol. I got to 175 before I paused.
Yeah - those hours are definitely split between those that bounced off it immediately, those that stuck with it and a smaller percentage that put in 200+ hours.

They did gain another million 'players' in November though - and whilst they didn't mention it, Starfield is presently the 10th best-selling game of the year (according to Circana Analytics), behind Mortal Kombat 1 (for some reason ) and ahead of Resident Evil 4 which was cross platform (that's actual sales, not Game Pass subs).

Got a strange problem trying to launch the game. (Steam)

The game launches in the background. Alt/Tab doesn't work, the only way to play is by going to Task manager and maximising it.
Anyone else have or fixed this issue?
