Dare I say but star citizen should be right up your alley then!Yeah thats why any decent pen and paper DM takes that into account and allows strength checks against a door rather than having to lockpick it. Thats what I mean about how so many RPGs have forgotten the actual RPG part, that and a shockingly large number of people have no idea what RP is and think that RP just means having stats and attributes...kids today !
Will you be playing Star Citizen at full release?Dare I say but star citizen should be right up your alley then!
If I'm still alive by the time it's released, yes why not! Will you be playing Star Citizen at full release?
Thats the thing, you can roleplay in any game but its a mentality which has sadly, largely died out. Back in my golden age of MMOs (late 1990s , pre 2004) I roleplayed as a warrior who refused to use any "magical" items and refused to use any bladed weapons (only blunt weaponry), imagine that...playing a character in an MMO and never using or wearing any item above standard "white" gear. Friend of mine played in an MMO as a deaf and dumb character, for 7 years he never broke character once, never spoke, never talked in chat, only communicated with everyone in game via the use of emotes. Even when he was alone and nobody was around he still emoted everything as his character. Unfortunately, we children of the 60s and 70s boom pen and paper RPG days have mostly long gone and todays crowd tends to think that if a game has attributes like Strength, Dexterity and has "blue" , "yellow" and "purple" items with stats on, that makes it an RPG.....but hey ho, thats a conversation for a whole other timeAnyways my point was that you could easily role play in star citizen now as there's none of that (need to level up to 50 in order to fly a 600i)
none of us are going to be alive to see thatWill you be playing Star Citizen at full release?
Guess the question is, what you find a "real" RPG to be? Based on your description, a medic playing that role in Battlefield makes the game a RPG? Same for a any squad member from ArmA? Is it the old "roll of the dice" when these (RPGs) were rather a sort of a board game when computers weren't really there for games?Thats the thing, you can roleplay in any game but its a mentality which has sadly, largely died out. As long as they stay in character (ie, dont start talking about how so and so rifle is getting nerfed in the next patch etc) then that would indeed be RPing, however if they are intending to play Battlefield as an RP game then they would also have to not play with a minimap open as actual soldiers dont have a handy little map which shows the position of all their friendly troops on the field of battle , its actually much easier to RP in something like Arma, or Squad or Hell Let Loose than one of the BF games. RPing basically boils down to remaining in character, knowing only what your character would know (not that dungeon X is for level 20-25s for example) and so on. Sadly, somewhere along the line RPing got heavily beaten with the loser/nerd tag (probably about the time of the "lightning bolt" videos ) and its not really managed to shift that tag, whereas gaming itself , which was once upon a time also beaten with the loser/nerd tag has over time become much more acceptable and "cool" to do.Guess the question is, what you find a "real" RPG to be? Starfield is an AMD sponsored game guys, I assume this means no DLSS or Frame Generation. I suppose we'll have to hope FSR 3 is out by then:

Adds extra frame, significantly improving the experience, doesn't matter if your GPU or CPU limited. In general, what does fake frames do for CPU heavy games?
This assumes Starfield will be CPU heavy as past Bethesda games have been - although a lot of that due to their poor threading. Hopefully they have finally figured out how to run NPCs on more than a single thread!
At least 20GB vRAM needed confirmed for 4k!Starfield is an AMD sponsored game guys, I assume this means no DLSS or Frame Generation. I suppose we'll have to hope FSR 3 is out by then:

Frame gen helps with CPU bottleneck as well, while DLSS would allow higher FPS and lower power consumption.Optimized for AMD means either no ray tracing or very little ray tracing so DLSS and frame generation shouldn't be needed
