What other game has done this? BF did the whole beta BS testing, but I can't think of another one. Is a very scummy thing to do.

Diablo did this recently, getting the premium version allowed a few days early access before launch which allowed some players to hit level 100 before some people even started the game lol. I agree though, it is bad but im not one to fall for such cheap tricks!

Couldn't care less if someone hit level 200 before me personally. There will always be people playing almost 24/7 who will get there before you or me anyway, so what difference will a few days make?

Again I only say this if it means it stops companies going down micro transactions route for games they have no business being in.

Diablo being one of them but luckily all the micro transactions are cosmetic based rather than having any game play mechanic relevance to them. Its utter rubbish when companies charge for things that should already be in the game to start with. I rather it be something in the game that you had to work towards to unlock rather than having to shortcut and pay for it. I've always hated and despised this sort of behaviour and culture that started off from games like Fortnite and CS.

Who cares about a headstart in a single player game? And I think virtually all games do this now... Diablo, BF2042, FIFA, CoD etc all have done it and will continue to do so.

Means nothing in a SP game.

Diablo 4 does have a multiplayer aspect to it, including coop modes, groups and some pvp but its not the best implemented right now. Seen a fair few bugs myself.

Not a fan of it myself. Just look at fighting games. You used to be able to complete the arcade mode and unlock fighters, now they charge you for it. Sad. Paying more to unlock a game earlier is a much less ****** thing to do in my book and if it helps keep other crap out I am all for it.

This for me, headstart makes no difference in a single player game. I wouldnt bother with a headstart, will definitely be playing it though as its got the potential to be game of the year.

I think the problem with 5 days early access is the endless amount of content and streaming we'll see before the plebs get access to the game. Some interesting surprises or moments in the game will do the rounds on Twitch or social media, thereby spoiling it to some degree.

Looks like a mini dopamine detox before its released might be the order of the day...

Luckily for me I dont follow social media and I'm capable of not clicking on Twitch for a few days :D

I remember when a few days before Fallout 4 was released I sort of accidentally/reflexively went over to Twitch and all the ads were FO4 related. The most annoying of those was the ad where they basically showed the moment you emerge from the Vault.

That was one of the best moments in Fallout 3, coming out of the vault.. and they ruined the moment entirely in FO4 by showing it in every ad, everywhere.

I really don't have any problem with people getting on 5 days early or Bethesda putting that into a form of premium package.

People just complain winge about anything.

Battlefield V, Hitman 2, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Call of Duty, Diablo 4

Upcoming: Mortal Kombat 1, Forza Motorsport
Fair enough, haven't got those on day one as my interest was low.

But, if gamers are fine with this, by all means, add some more gimmicks to the mix!

I feel like the 5 day early access gesture is just to justify a price increase and to increase the FOMO culture big AAA tend to create

It's just another psychological trick to con weak-minded people who cannot wait 5 days out of money. And as ever these people will always do the mental gymnastics to justify it to themselves, and then of course people say "it's normal" as if that's some kind of justification...which of course in turn sends the signals to the publishers that people will accept any form of creeping monetisation, and segmentaion of games, so that's what happens.

And there's always the simp community who can't bear any kind of criticism of authority and think that people complaining is the real problem as it shatters their illusions of the in this case the games industry and forces them to confront the fact that everything isn't sunshine and lollipops. These people exist in every walk of life I have met hundreds of them, they just want to live in their happy delusions and being confronted with the truth threatens this and makes them anxious.

AMD Collaborates with Bethesda for Starfield Game: New Bundle for Ryzen 7000 CPUs Revealed

Looks like Starfield to be bundled with all Zen4 cpu's across the range. Perfect timing as I'm just about to buy one :)

WTF you have to pay 85£ for the ealy access
Or £34.99 for the early access if you get the premium upgrade on gamepass instead. For those who must absolutely definitely have the 5 day headstart. £35 for the headstart is quite a bit cheaper than £85, for those who must.
