***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

It's good having the option for Tombstone and the 3 other people who like co-op. I just hate it when SP suffers because of tacked on co-op/MP.

I have a mate in life who I've also gamed with pretty much daily for the past couple of decades. He still dismisses and often has very little clue about pure SP games. States to him, gaming is just a social outlet to hangout and play games with mates.

He will dive into the odd SP here and there, but it's not as uncommon as you think. Wanting MP features in popular games, I'd say us wanting a SP only experience is about equal to that of a MP one.

Only, MP games make more money...

I like both co-op and single player, I prefer co-op, but only because I'm not socially retarded like many gamers are :D , but a really good single player game, like Alien Isolation can also be darned good too.

Apparently "return to mission area" is the type of message you'll get when exploring. But hey, you've got 1000 planets! :D

You can still have friends and be socially retarded, if you can't think who in the group that is, it must be you :D

Re above, would rather that then waste time travelling in to nothingness.

Even NMS had the whole planet. True, is not on "next gen" engine, like "Creation" engine :))

A large, boring, empty map that only a couple of users ever bothered to try to fully traverse. If you want that go play NMS, a game that for the longest time had nothing else to offer. A whole randomly generated world with nothing interesting to explore isn’t the focus of this game.

People who think differently obviously explored the whole Earth on foot and thought this is something they would like to do in a videogame.

Star Citizen is what happens if you think a game absolutely needs any feature you can think of. Let’s see if it ever delivers and releases.

I don't even fully explore any open world game fully. Can't imagine doing it 1000 times. There’ll always be a tiny niche who want that and for it they have NMS and SC.

I get what you are saying but i feel like we have been spoiled by the “open world” genre. Hitting a invisible wall will be unpleasant at best when you end up wandering.

But i also appreciate how large the areas seem to be. Big enough to explore quite a lot but small enough to be manageable for the devs to meet a certain level of quality.

Spoilers

Yeah, this was inevitable, we knew this was the case without them saying it.

No ground vehicles, you cannot fly down to the planet (which as you apparently see it in space does not actually exist) you have to set it up as a destination after which it goes in to a cinematic landing sequence... which is a load screen, when you're given back control of the game you're already landed and its time to get out of your ship. You're not flying around.

And that's fine. Its ok :)

If you will forgive me... what you're not doing is this. :)

But the FPS.... yes i know! :p Ryzen 3600. I have a 5800X now...

we won’t forgive you.

I haven’t really seen much at all of star field but i will certainly be having a go.

I’ve been trying to not watch reviews or such these days as to form my own opinions. Finding i enjoy a lot more gaming since then.
