***The Official Starfield Thread*** (As endorsed by TNA)

Was not a expecting FSR3 to be honest. Best FSR 2 and I will be more than happy as that would be on par with DLSS.

I am hoping the core elements of the game are solid. The technical side can always be improved over time by Bethesda Games Studio or the modding community. But I would think since it needs to run on consoles too,and Bethesda Games Studio is now owned by Microsoft, they will have to make it run OK.

It might be CPU intensive if there is settlement building, but not everyone will want to do that like in Fallout 4.

Can’t blame them with Eurogamer, joke of a ‘review’ site that has it in for Xbox. They’re probably also shifting to streamers these days that have a much bigger audience.
What I found interesting was that Digital Foundry got review code via Eurogamer but only on condition that it wasn't shared with Eurogamer staff - wild

"You should expect to see relatively prompt coverage of the game by Rich and his team after a separate delivery of Starfield code was provided to them. However, this was provided alongside instruction to me by Bethesda that no other parts of Eurogamer were granted access."

(Apparently Eurogamer has since been provided review code but without sufficient time to review the game before the embargo ends).

More concerning is that they appear to have deliberately held review copies back from several major UK-based publications to prevent them having reviews ready when the embargo lifts. Eurogamer, RPS, Edge, The Guardian and a few others including an Xbox-focused site have all said they weren't provided one.
The interesting thing is Eurogamer didn't get a code, but Digital Foundry did. So they like DF but not the rest of Eurogamer.

Eurogamer are pretty polarising, I went off them when I couldn't tell if it was a gaming site or a soapbox for political talk.

4th most popular comment on that article sums it up for me:

Aint like it's getting 5 stars on EG anyway so they probably figure there's no rush. It's AAA, not pixel graphics, not making a racial or gender-based statement, not niche, etc etc. I predict 3 stars from EG, 4 if they've had a solid drink first.

It is a bit of an odd situation with the reviews, I guess there should be plenty to read but why hold back for others?

Made me laugh that The Metro were getting upset about not getting their review copy though. Sorry, who?

I highly doubt the first half of the game is anything other than fairly solid gameplay, it's the last act that will make or break the experience and sadly more often than not it's also where content is the least likely to be finished. The trauma of Mass Effect's ending has tempered my expectations though so I probably won't care so long as most of it's alright, that said I do hope the first mods deal with difficulty as Bethesda seems allergic to providing resistance to the player.

Wow, 700+ Xbox fanboys blaming Eurogamer. Console wars extending into a journalism site not receiving a code is hilarious. It is also a problem for every UK review site, it is not exclusive to Eurogamer (Although they have a copy now).

Which is strange as an AMD sponsored title, DF are the preferred Nvidia shills!

Newspaper reviews are increasingly an important outlet as they get national coverage they're not just review sites for gamer nerds

Is it just me or was outerworlds game basically a alpha/beta for starfield?

It had most of the characteristics of starfieled minus ship interiors and free flying in space
I bounced hard off of Outer Worlds - 5 mins in and there were massive UE4 shader compilation stutters - refunded it :(

Kinda worried about Obsidian - 'Avowed' doesn't look all that from what little we've seen.
