Getting hold of an active steam account isn't difficultGiven that only people with active steam accounts, that were active month before SD was even announced, were able to reserve it - I would assume lot less.

Yes it is when that said account had to be active since March/April??Getting ho

Does mean that apple's m1 chip is in real trouble now because AMD are abotu to drop the ball on them with these and future SOCXmas is gonna be good this year. Hopefully they dispatch early December. The more I think about it, the more excited I get
Looks like it is a hit and hopefully we will get a 1080p version in 3-4 years time with a slightly bigger display. There should be a much more powerful soc on 3nm that would handle that hopefully.
There are heaps of unsecured and dormant accounts that meet the criteria that can get scooped with little to no effort by anyone who would seek to take themYes it is when that said account had to be active since March/April??
no one knew from back then that such a rule would be applied or even the fact that valve was about to release a new product
No idea. Bit of a different market I would have thought. For the Deck I can't see it ever using an Apple chip. It needs to be X86.Does mean that apple's m1 chip is in real trouble now because AMD are abotu to drop the ball on them with these and future SOC
NO there is not. There are heaps of unsecured and dormant accounts that meet the criteria that can get scooped with little to no effort by anyone who would seek to take them
im just saying AMD has a SOC capable of probably going toe to toe with a m1 chip and still runing x86 and fully fledged PC games. No idea. Bit of a different market I would have thought. For the Deck I can't see it ever using an Apple chip. It needs to be X86.
Quick google search throws up that steam had some billion accounts registered as of 2 years ago with less than 9% of those accounts active on a monthly basisNO there is not.
Absolute rubbish.
STeam accounts dorment are a minority to the amount of scalpers around
ANd hopw do u know they were created by scalpers ready for such a drop?!?Quick google search throws up that steam had some billion accounts registered as of 2 years ago with less than 9% of those accounts active on a monthly basis
I never said they were created by them or that it was for such a purpose, but that they by and large will lack any kind of 2FA or secure passwords. Many will be things like spambots and the like, which I'm sure for a paltry sum could be bought by whoever holds them.ANd hopw do u know they were created by scalpers ready for such a drop?!?
Is it definitely for the same model?I got my order in on the same day it dropped albeit in the evening around 7pm but its Q2 2022! I've seen some people who ordered the day after and they're Q1 2022! Mind boggling!
Maybe they're prioritising certain regions first.
Yup same model, 256gb version. I honestly think its region prioritised, like how EVGA prioritised US customers for their cards before we saw any in the UK for the first few months. Is it definitely for the same model?

No and I don't think most people getting one that have a shred of sense are planning on using this to play brand new bloated AAA releasesDo I really want to be experiencing AAA games on a tiny screen where I don't feel immersed?
The only thing I'll say is that I tried playing games on a phone with a controller wrapped around it (Razer Kishi), via Steam Link and Stadia, but the games for this small of a screen just don't seem to make sense. They just are not enjoyable. I'm not a big console guy anyway, as I tend to buy consoles then barely use them.
I'm curious if going from a 5inch wide (mobile) screen to a 7inch (Steam Deck) screen is really going to make any real difference to that experience. Do I really want to be experiencing AAA games on a tiny screen where I don't feel immersed? Things like platformers etc seem so much better for this setup.
I guess I'll see if I take up my reservation slot in Q2 2022.
