Paid for mine Friday and GLS tracking says it will be delivered today. Could not have come at a worse time to be honest and I may have to sell mine Ill have a play with first and see what the fuss is about.
Ideally you need a powered USB c hub that can handle 45w and has a video out. There are a handful available, including some made with the steamdeck in mindMine has landed today so will be having a look tonight!
So apart from an SD card for additional storage, what are the other "must have" peripherals out there?
I like the idea of hooking up a keyboard and mouse in some instances as well as outputting to a TV - do I need any old USB hub and some sort of HDMI cable??

Guessing I'm not getting the steam deck for a while!?
- It looks like you have a UK 512GB reservation
- You reserved your deck 01 days, 08 hours, 08 minutes and 36 seconds after pre-orders opened
- 00 days, 04 hours, 41 minutes and 33 seconds worth of pre-orders have been processed
- You have 01 days, 03 hours, 27 minutes and 03 seconds worth of pre-orders to go until it is your turn (not real time)
- You're 14.59 % of the way there!
I posted it yesterday. https://getmydeck.ingenhaag.dev/Where did you see that? What time was your confirmation email for the deposit?
Hopefully won't be all that much longer, its jumped from under an hour to almost 5 hours in the last couple weeks.Guessing I'm not getting the steam deck for a while!?

It runs Linux natively and Windows games through the proton emulation layer. So not all steam games will run. But they have the lists of verified games, which should run perfectly. Playable games which run but may be some issues like needing the controller set up, or having to mess around with the launcher. Unplayable games, which for one reason or another dont work (most that I've seen are to do with anticheat or other online issues). And untested games.Question, does the STeam Deck run every OS listed on the Steam Store?
Since you can filter by Windows, Mac OS and Linus, does the windows only game work on the Steam Deck?
@Raymond Lin what time did you order on the 17/07? I ordered at 12:06PM
No, I'm a good 12 hours after you.
I've installed Windows 11 on an external USB SSD. Changed to boot order on the deck so it tries USB first, and so all I need to do is connect the SSD and reboot to have Windows.
However, saying that, I doubt I'm going to use Windows much on it. Most stuff just works on SteamOS.
I really, really like this thing so far. I've even got used to using sticks in FPS games but those aren't my main reason for having the Deck. I'm mainly in to indie titles, RPGs, and dual-stick shooters these days.
Just hoping someone comes out with a nicely fitted external battery for it.
It works really well. Use Rufus to do the install as Windows-to-go. You can also prevent Windows from seeing the Deck's internal storage and doing its Windows stompy stompy thing it likes to do when it sees drives.Oooh, that's an idea....without taking up space on the internal for dual boot.
