The *Official* Supreme Commander Thread

Has anyone seen any reliable benchmarks of this game with various CPU/GPUs, in particular comparisons between single core and dual core CPUs?

If dual core makes a big difference might just upgrade to a cheap S939 dual core for this game.
 
I'm thinking of upgrading to a cheap S939 dual core as well, most likely the X2 4200 as its cheaper than the 4600 and will use less power because i dont think i can afford to upgrade my PSU as well.

Indeed, was very dissapointed with the demo after looking forward to this for ages.

The graphics look dated, the units are small and undetailed, the terrain is bland and barren.

Hoping the C&C3 demo is better next week.
 
got mine in the post today :)

but for some reason the map and unit tech tree poster that comes in the box is in french :confused:
 
I ordered this from a company who post from the channel islands.
Considering they've had it in stock for a few days, my order is still on 'Processing'
I hope it arrives on release day otherwise I won't be ordering from them again for pre-releases. :mad:

No competitors, but you shouldn't order from them anyway for preorders. They never get them out on time.
 
Recieved my Aeon faction pack but with the wrong DVD in it - the UEF one :(

edit - seems when running the UEF disc it is infact the Aeon one :S

Weird? I went for the Aeon pack too, I'll need to check the disc when it arrives.

Does your copy definitely include all the Aeon specific interviews/artwork etc?
 
Recieved my copy today. Gotta love some pre-orders :) Just need my new rig (tommorrow) to be able to play it.

Dunno whether I'll play online though, have never been a major fan of online play.

I'm just browsing through, the menu etc seems to have a Aeon theme - but I need to try and find the interviews etc (Aeon related).
 
If i take SC online it'll only be against friends i know in RL who i knw would be interested in a good match. Im not the biggest fan of online games. I never used to take TA online because there was only 2 types of game that were played by most players. Early flash rushes or com-bombing. It was so frequent i just gave up and stuck to skirmish games against AI's of ever increasing difficulty.

Mine too :( Was in 'packing' yesterday but checked this morning and its gone back to 'processing' I forgot that 'they' never get them to you on release day.

Anyway, I will 'collect in store' tommorow for £19.99 ;) and send the ltd edition back unopened when it eventually arrives. Praise be the distance selling act :)
