I have a few "spare" Just Eat accounts and they have emailed me some discount codes to be used by midnight Saturday night 31st March. I won't be using all of them so here is a spare one....

Hardly use Just Eat these days. Always cheaper to just go round an do a collection. No delivery fee or rip off "service charge" plus most of the local unclean places have deals and collection offers which you can't get on Just Eat.

have you checked www.foodhub.co.uk to see if any of your local places are on there? there's no service charge and a lot of the take aways do 10-15% off, what costs me £12.20 on JE only costs £10.18 on FH

First I've heard of it but just checked it and one of my regular pizza shops are on it so I'm going to order for collection later and get 10% off. :)

No Deliveroo or Ubereats here, or any deliveries from chain places like KFC, Poppa John's, etc.

Just Eat tried to charge me a £1 service charge early this evening despite that I'd opted for collection. I cancelled the order and just went to the takeaway.

I mentioned it to them (the takeaway) and they've said they've had loads of complaints regarding it. Apparently JE added the service charge because they aren't allowed to charge for credit/debit card use anymore. Takeaway said they're not renewing their JE contract when it ends as it's costing them customers. They pay JE for the service so why are they adding charges to the customer aswell.

It's why I hardly use JE these days. A 12" pizza from a local place costs £7 on JE + £1 delivery + 50p service charge. Or I can phone up and order and go and collect it myself for £4 with their collection only offer. It's a no brainer. Only time I order in now is if I'm ****** off my box.

I have many accounts so get codes sent all the time from the ones I never use/hardly use. Although I hardly use JE full stop now regardless.

Discount code emails usually go out on a Friday and last through to Monday night.

JUSTEAT15 should be good for unlimited uses until the end of March.

Yep just had a spew of emails from them again today but even with 15% off it's still much cheaper to pop round to my favourite pizza shop and collect myself. It's just 3 minute walk away.

I think JE are getting desperate. :p

FoodHub not all that cracked up to be either .

(08:51:46) LeeUK: Hi why does it say 15% discount for Tandoori Hut but there is no sign of the discount in the order?
(08:51:47) Customer Support: Thank you for choosing FoodHub. An agent will be with you shortly. Please make sure your request includes the necessary information so our agents can help you best. Postcode, address, name, and a brief description of the enquiry.

(08:57:45) Irene: I apologise for the inconvenience.
(08:58:09) LeeUK: Says minimum order for delivery £10 and that is all. False advertising.

The thing with JE for takeaway shop owners is that you are screwed if you use them and screwed if you don't. I knew a bloke who ran a small pizza shop for a while, he refused to use services like JE because of the high set up cost and the big slice they take from every order, he only relied on customers phoning for delivery and walk-ins. Yet if he had used them he would have probably doubled his orders, but not his profit.

maybe I missed the discussion .. so have they now made the star rating of 'restaurants' obvious, so you can filter the zero and 1 rated places ,
revealed in the 'investigative' journalism by the bbc last week ?

... is there even possibility of cross contamination between orders since delivery folks are the same.

You can have a 5 star hygiene takeaway but they delivery driver's car could be a dust bin on wheels.
