The **Official** Test Drive Unlimited for PC thread

I'm glad I read this thread before I bought the game. It looked very impressive on the shelf and I liked the general idea.

What I'd like is TDU that works crossed with NFSU2, Carbon and suchlike, with the chance to buy (in-game) land and, when you have bought enough, the chance to build your own racetrack, which you could keep private (invitation only), open to the public, charge a fee for using it, whatever. Plus a vast amount of options for landscaping your land, exterior decoration for your house, all sorts of stuff for showing off to passersby. I had stacks of fun in NFSU2 just making outrageously ostentatious cars and driving around. Fun escapism into a complete lack of good taste.

Your asking a lot from Atari there, I dont think they would be capable of doing that and getting it finished on time :(

Before the patch i had no performance / sound / graphical problems, now my game seems to stutter, and ive even had to turn down from 1600x1200 to 1280x1024, everything maxxed (HDR / AA etc). The new cars are nice but i wish they would have made them a bit faster aswell, i mean their not lambo standard but should be a bit quicker.

I was talking about what I'd like, not what I think Atari could do.

hi there.
fancy meeting up for a cruise today ?
then we can investigate the state of the club functions. :)
even if clubs do not work, it is running well since the patch for freeride MP sessions so we could just bleat around the island.

si.

hmm the patch has seemed fine for me, havent noticed any probs just the sound seems too quiet now even at max. But tbh my game was running ok before patch too

The patch seems fine for me as well. Yes the sounds are quieter, less bass a friend thinks.

However I'm not 100% convinced that the FPS is up and that the gameplay is smoother.

Haven't played this for a while. Gave the patch an hour or two but considering I'm having problems seeing people online, it kind of removes half the fun of TDU. :(

Well my problems connecting with players have returned for no reason :(

Can only have one person red again, all rest are white with connection error

With my GTS I noticed framrate was up, around 35-45fps when it was like 25-40fps before the patch at 1440x900, seems good with my 2900 at 50-75fps too.

Im really enjoying this game again, i didn't really have any problems with the original game apart from connection issues, the patch has increased FPS, i can now exit the game without it crashing, and the sound is actually a lot better. I've started to play the game only with bikes now. Mastered cars, now trying with bikes :D

Loved the other day beating an enzo round the track with the MV Agusta, and he called me a cheat :D :D :D
