What a scrap yard thread this has become.

12 pages of drivel and only 4 or so peoples overclocks to look over. Kudos to those that ACTUALLY posted overclocks in this thread. The rest of the bickering should stop.

In fact, delete the thread and post a new one minus the noise.....

:(

Surely if your PC runs games with hours on end without crashing that is stable enough, thats what I base my overclocks on, if it dont lock or blue screen its alright.

Just had a quick read of the last few pages and jeeeesh this has become a silly thread.

Why is everyone jumping on easyrider's back over computer stability? He's been posting here for years and in my eyes has valued opinions on overclocking and hardware. Its a forum not a bitching session so there's obviously going to be some heated discussions but some of the posts here are just wee taking.Mod can hopefully clean the thread up from all the dross!

... use the search ;)

Thanks for that.:)

I appreciate your support.

I want hot see how hot these chips get under full stress.

This will then provide people with what to expect with:

a: What cooling they have
b: How they scale with vcore
c:Maximum overclocks
d:A solid benchmark starting point so people can compare batches etc..

This is all useful to people jumping ship from the 65nm parts.

where did all the adults go?

and clearly I am the best overahclocker as I can gitz 4ghz+ with my Q6600 *mindless insults and e-penis enhancement*

lol you dont understand what it was about do ya, he was trying to tell someone who knows more about overclocking how to do it, when he came back with his he was better than me remark and got his **** bit he ran off like a scorned puppy, the fact is easy has never beat the good clockers clock vs clock on the same cooling.

he played the i got a higher than you clock nobody else, if you read the thread you would understand it a little better

and easy people would take you more serious if u posted overclocking threads in the overclcoking section for a start

40c seems rather warm idle when you compare it to mine, mine idles at 34c at the same clock speed and volts as you, this is with a Tuniq Tower 120.

Ok found the reason for the high temps lol.

Turns out one of the clip/pins on the mounting plate of my SI 128 has snapped so it was only making contact with a 3rd of the CPU(imprint on heatsink) So i've returned to my old XP-90 and guess what! idle at 30C @ 4.05Ghz with 1.38v been running Orthos for 10mins so far both cores at 60C.

Just warming my E8400 up at the moment

3800Mhz so far , just testing with Small FFT's with prime95

Voltage needed for 3600 = 1.275 / 1.25 actual
3800 Needs 1.375 / 1.36

going to try for 4000 later then i will leave it like that 24/7 with abit of luck
