***The Official Wolfdale 8200/8400/8500 Overclocking Thread ***

did you say they have lifetime warranty

yea i think they do, but they said that within the first 30days i need to deal with the suppliers aka ocuk, and that crucial would deal with it if it was after the 30 days from purchase :p just done 2 hours blend testing at stocks with the one stick and its gone fine woohoo :D just gotta wait for the other stick to come back (once i recieve the RMA e-mail telling me where to send it :( ) and then can give this clocking marlarky a shot properly :D

Only had this 8500 a couple of days, so not had a lot of time to play with it yet. There probably is more left in it yet, but i'm not to shure if it's capable of 5ghz.

Nice Kitfit1. Thats pretty much the max stable I had mine at. Extra voltage made no difference at all.

Thanks weescott. I think this chip will go higher, i just don't know how much higher at the moment. As it happens, the last two days have been spent finding the right GTL's and VTT for my cpu and mobo, rather than clocking per-say. Without GTL's and VTT being spot on for the cpu, it does drasticly reduce the stable clock that the cpu is going to produce.

Indeed. But like all the 45nm chips I have clocked, it looks like it will go miles further and just....stops.

Lets hope your chip is different and clocks well. :) Well...good for us anyway :p

Oh shut up you egomaniaic.

People who know what stable is dont use Prime!!!!

Wanna claim a clock?

prove it with a screenie of Prime or orthos or anyhthing other than words my friend.

As the saying goes Pictures Paint a Thousand Words.

4.6ghz stable with your wolfy?

Guess what I don't believe you.

If it was true you would be rubbing my face in it.:p

Have I claimed a stable shot that is not true?

What about a bench shot?

oooh I forgot.....learn to bench....where are your points?

I struggled to get mine stable at 4.6. I got it there eventually though. It is doable.

And Easyrider before you ask for a stability shot...Shuuuuuut iiiit! :p

Please just provide a shot..

If I had a wolfy 4.6ghz stable I would be shouting it from the hills with piccies to back it up:p

First post of yours states "early results"

What has changed? Is this a easyrider states the rules thread?

NO. Don't change the rules for your own personal gain!!!!

Early results show me that no one on this forum has had 4.6ghz stabilty from a wolfy. So don't claim it.

I'll be the first to congratulate you on this if you show me.:)

Maybe even tempted to get one.

I guess I'll be waiting along time:(
