I will walk into a clothes shop, pick up a hat, buy it, and then proceed to eat said hat in front of till staff... if it is released on the 8th.
 
Apple has pulled the same day launch trick before remember ;)

In terms of launching too much at once I think the 3rd Gen iPhone will come with OS 3.0 pre installed, so the only other thing happening would be everbody else upgrading their firmware....... Which will happen whenever it goes live anyway.

I'm very doubtful of a June 8th launch but it is certainly possible for the US at least. Obviously by the time it is announced UK time shops will be closed, so maybe a launch on June 10th for us. This would allow news of the date to spread across the net and queues to form on launch day :D

Still seems strange to lauch your flagship product on a Wednesday though, so June 12th looks a better bet :p
