I hope this iTunes cloud service isn't just tied to iTunes store purchases - or else this will be a pretty epic fail

Nah, I think no photos longer then 30 days. Its a temp service to help you not a storage platform.

At least in the begining.

Tell you what, I'm liking this a lot and I may even start buying music on iTunes now.
Mobile devices I want simplicity and less hassle as possible. This is going to provide it.

I'm pretty disappointed in the music aspect to iCloud...

What happens with people who rip the music from their discs? They have to buy the albums again from iTunes? I don't think so

5GB of free storage for mail, docs, backups. Purchased music, apps, and books don't count towards that.
