Monzo Flex
A better way to pay later

Buy now pay later in 3 interest-free instalments on pretty much anything, anywhere, anytime.

If eligible, it’s interest-free over 3 instalments or there’s 6 and 12 instalments at 19% APR representative (variable).
It’s a brilliant product. It’s like a BNPL and credit card all wrapped up in one package.

Native VM support within macOS, very cool.

I'm not a programmer but I've had a look as this documentation as it appears to me that VMs will be able to access Rosetta in order to run Intel binaries on M1/2 Macs. If this is correct then it means that we'll see the likes of Parallels and VMWare being able to run Intel versions of Windows. Yes? Or have I got this absolutely wrong?

Running a full amd64 OS is not what this is. It's just about running a Linux amd64 binary on arm64 based Linux guests while on an Apple Silicon device. Rosetta now has a Linux binary that basically sends the Linux process to the host Rosetta "engine'".

A really good use case would be to run amd64 docker containers within arm64 based Linux VMs.

Will be huge for Docker which has become extremely prevalent. Performance on macOS is shocking

Yeh we've noticed that those with the M1 MBP are seeing advantages vs those with Intel MBP when running huge Docker containers, so an M2 will be even better I'm sure.

PayPal does it too.

I hate it, I did it once for something that’s “only” £220. I did it not because I can’t afford £220 in one go but I thought “oooh let’s spread it out”. Then the next 2 months I’m having to remember I have this £70 to come out still.

That's just £70. Imagine having a few stacked up. Not for me.

It's probably for people who don't have much in the bank but is prepared to spread it over 3 months. Kind of makes sense then they not pulling as much out as a full amount.

You can say that about all finance stuff. Anyone who isn't responsible will fail.
Completely agree, but do Monzo do any affordability checks? For example Amazon do it with computer equipment, advertising the fact pay over X months with no credit check. Its really easy to get sucked into that.

As you say though anyone who isn't responsible will fail, so can see both sides.

Monzo do a soft credit search when applying for Flex.

I'm a bit late watching the WWDC keynote. There was a lot to like with the new releases off software.

I'm disappointed as an owner of an iPad Pro (2nd Gen) with the A12Z that Stage Manager isn't available. My iPad is just over 2yrs old and cost me a good amount of money.

This is the way they are going. Want new features you must upgrade.

Microsoft are doing the same.
