I'd leave both of them on the shelf and buy an x1950xt if I was spending 150+

Unfortunately there are no XTs in AGP versions; but if the AGP to PCI-e price differences are anything to go by, there would most probably be a hefty AGP premium on them anyway... =)
How cruel it is for us AGP users...Slowly decaying and withering away, and paying a higher price for the privilege... :D
I suppose it's a bit like aftercare when you get old.

:)

Difference between the AGP and PCI-e HIS X1950 Pro 512MB cards(PCI-e version is Crossfire2 Compatible):
PCI-e:
£164.49
AGP:
£187.99

Why such a premium?

Temperature sensors in AGP versions working? Specifically GeCube and Sapphire models.

Read that an early GeCube didn't have a temperature sensor (on this forum) using the beta drivers included with the card.

I use Everest Home Edition 2.20 and would like to know if it can pick a GPU core and GPU ambient on these new cards.

TIA.

i woudl thnk its a a case of they can sell more pci-e ones so can produce for lower cost.

I can't really detect any noise made by my card, Why would you want it any quieter?! Seriously It's really quiet.

No no, I'm saying the stock cooler on the X1800/X1900 series (the dual slot monster) is reaallly loud, not the one that comes as stock on the X1950pro.

it was just a thought since i have my stock x1900xt cooler lying around, and if i got a x1950pro for another pc i could just get the cheapest card which has the regular cooler and replace it with the cooler from my x1900xt.

cheers, whats the diffrenece with all the makes, ie his, saph, an powercooler ?
There isn't much difference between the cards 'but' the coolers are very different. My m8 has the Sapphire one and he says its very NOISY when the fan spins up. I am using the Power-Colour one and its 'very' quiet (as is the HIS model). I wouldn't recommend the standard Sapphire model, although Sapphire do an updated model that features the new Zalman cooler.

Sapphire + Zalman (Ultimate Edition)
Power Colour + 'Accelero X2
HIS + Custom cooler

agp is more expensive because there are hardly any agp cards produced now, so there in shorter supply, which is why sites/shops charge more for them.
As far as I know all the GPUs come off the main production line as PCI-e, then they have to add an extra 'bridge chip' to convert it from PCI-e to AGP . . . therefore added cost.

It's a thread to discuss the merits of the X1950 Pro, not to discuss how much u can buy the GPU for from other eTailors, or dismiss anyone who buys hardware from overclockers.co.uk as a nOOb . . . I dunno some people will never learn
