*** The Official Xbox One Thread ***

Found out the problem, I did try and change the settings and it did nothing, but I first connected the XBOX to my housemates TV and it worked perfectly first time, so I used his HDMI cable on my monitor and it worked fine! Why is this though, if I can use the HDMI cable to connect up my laptop and PS3 to my monitor fine why does it have issues with the XBOX, I also assumed that all HDMI cables are pretty much the same...

Well the main thing is its working now i guess all HDMI cables are not the same :p glad you figured it out anyway enjoy :D

I finally decided to plug my sky cable into the xbox to see how well the TV/OneGuide works and tbh I'm pretty disappointed. The guide is ok and I can change channels with my voice/controller but the picture quality is quite poor and blurry/fuzzy, it's also seems to judder a lot.

Hi have you enabled the 50hz tv mode ?

Very strange all i can say is that since they introduced the 50hz tv mode picture quality has been good here so not sure whats going on there:p

All the problems you mentioned are similar to what i experienced when tv could only be output @ 60hz from the xbox.

Not good news for those hoping for a bit more 'kinect focus' from devs, can see it pretty much just being ignored if consoles are shipped without.

From my point of view I don't find that particularly a bad thing.

£349 is hardly a bargain either, considering you can get the Titanfall bundle, with Kinect for that price. Although I appreciate that's RRP so actual resellers will likely be considerably cheaper, £300 perhaps.

Yeah was thinking this will be £300 in no time also.. my connect is gathering dust :p

:p
Be careful, according to the below any external HDD will need its own power supply :)

I just bought a 3TB Seagate bad boy in preparation for this, i'm running pretty low on space so this will be good timing.

It's been confirmed by major nelson that USB 3 powered HDD work fine too infact he says he is using 2 of them so i don't who
said you need them to be externally powered because it's not true

Fully off PSU light orange. I can still hear and feel the drive spinning. The X0 must keep the USB ports powered even when off ?

I just asked over @ avforums about this and a guy said the 4tb Seagate he has shuts down completely but his is mains powered :)

He seems to think that USB powered HDD should too but if you say yours doesn't

Just checked it with my meter :) There is a permanent 5v live on the USB ports in either Standby or Power saving.

It seems odd to keep them powered all the time especially in power save mode. I emailed MS asking if this will be patched in later. Will see if I get a response.

Did you check all the USB ports ?
