On a p35-ds3l rev 2.0.

This board does not like anything higher.

I use a divider of 5:6 and the memory is Ocz Reaper Memory HPC Edition pc8500, and still if i try 3.7ghz even with a voltage increase to 1.35volts, it still would hang or not post.

I just received mine yesterday. Nothing overclocked at the moment. Could someone explain why CPU-Z says Core Speed 1999.9 and multiplier x 6

This seems to equate to 333 x 6. However, when I changed the FSB to 400 and the CPU setting to 08.5 the the AMI bios screen shows 3.41Ghz but in the bios it shows lower figures. Presumably if you have an inaccurate bios then CPU-Z just picks up those inaccuracies?

Even when I have had the ami bois showing 3.31 Ghz, the CPU Z still says multiplier of 6 even though I have changed the bios.

I thought the processor was 2.83Ghz at stock so I would expect to see those settings?

MB is P5Q SE

you have speedstep enabled (power saving option when the pc isnt under load)

disable C1E and manually set the multi, tbh if your not going for an extreme overclock there's really no harm leaving it enabled :)

Have browsed the thread but not found the info im after,

What should i set my vcore to to clock my q9450 to 3.2ghz ? just need a benchmark value that i can then reduce to find its lowest stable voltage.

On auto at standard clocks its showing 1.224v

Q9550 @ 3.5GHz @ 1.275
EVGA 750i SLI F. T. W.
4x1GB DDR2 1066MHz
9800GX2 SLI
(6 hour Prime + 8 hour IBT stable)

Not experienced enough to get 3.6GHz+ on this setup.

I've got the twin brother of Clairvoyant's chip! Not bad for a HTPC case :D

I've tried for 4ghz, which I'm sure this chip can do, but I can't get my P35 board to do 470fsb :(
