DX 10 isnt really about the new effects its mainly a reworked from the ground up so it uses resources better and puts the right hardware to use more than dx9 and below used to so games can look and run good but use less powerful hardware.
Looks like we've got a new classic. At long last, it's been a while since we got a game worth 95% or 10/10. I was beginning to loose faith in PC gaming. I think by Christmas I'll be back on board 
I adored System shock and System Shock 2, and have always been disapointed that developers failed to build on the genre for a long time.

BioShock Trailer Premiers Sunday On Spike TV
Apparently theres going to be a final trailer that will be shown on Spike TV on Sunday 12th.
"All I can say is this had better be a damn fine piece of video game commercial film for me to want to take time out of my busy Sunday schedule of sitting around on my ass to flip the channel to Spike at 9PM Eastern to watch for 60 seconds. They'd need something like a surprise announcement from Game Head's Geoff Keighley for that to happen."

Speculation in the console section is that it's being announced for PS3 sometime in the future

Water and lighting i like the revolver i do not since it looked very basic and not very detailed. The hit sound effects didnt sound too good but then again it was a video of somoene playing. Very nice frame rates tho, i wounder what system was used and what quality settings used and res.
