**The one and only Official BioShock Thread**- now with added **SPOILERS**

I'm quite impressed with the demo but have a few quick questions before I get it.

1: How long would you say the game takes to complete
2: Apart from the security alerts are there any timed tasks
3: Are there any differences apart from physical in having the dvd v the Steam download?:)
Took me well, about 11 hours :)
I believe there was one, but it was insignificant, so not really :)
Steam download for me was simply wanting in this weekend when stores were closed, plus always having a backup and no cd needed in drive.
It's more expensive though, should be the other way but it isn't.

oh well, looks like my pc isnt up for the game. Ive tried the game without modification, and ive tried with beta 1 of a sm2 fix, and the Asankel Fix, and neither work. All that happens when i run the game is that it shows the logos and such, but after the 'works best with nvidea' logo, its just a blank screen, and task manager shows bioshock as not responding by that point.

its a shame, looks like a great game to play, but as a student i cant afford to fully upgrade a whole pc, which would cost me > £1000

this game needs modding, will come back to it when.

1/ A patch is out for the bugs
2/ High texture pack is out, even at all maxed out in places it looks naff
3/ Mod for the User Interface is out, console gui no thanks!

I'm having a small problem, in suchang's lab there is an antidote, I've got the first one and got to the (hotel?) room to get the second one but I cannot pick it up, it says I have too much of this item already!!?!

Have I missed something obvious?

So close to completing it!

Found out I have to start again from before I got the first antidote, last save point was quite a bit before that :mad::mad::rolleyes:

Do you have to do them in a certain order then?

Just done that bit myself tonight and i went to pick up the one in tennenbaums room first as it was nearest .

Isn't there a level change between getting the 1st and 2nd doses - if so load up the auto save and back track to the first one you didn't pick up then go for the 2nd one.

so has anyone mentioned the flaw in the story? the err, walk into unknown place, weird guy speaking to you wander around, murder a couple people, seems ok they were trying to kill you. all dead, all safe, oh look a big vile of crap thats glowing, you know what, every time i see a big vile of crap thats growing i pick it up and inject it. every time, its just what i do.

maybe, maybe just a little bit of cover story to persaude him to inject stuff that looks radioactive into him :p

other than that great game, what bugs are some people complaining about exactly? basically a bug free game experience for me, on vista 64. the only issue i had was one time i died and for some reason it would let me move of open the chamber door, so blew myself up inside it and when i died again it worked fine :p

other than that, nothing.

as for, won't play it till they fix bugs(didn't see any proper ones, less than any other game i've ever played i believe), they make it look better. get over yourself.

every single game ever made has comprimises in how its made and looks. if you have some stuff looking ultra good, often something else won't look AS good, thats life.

yes you can walk down a small hall with a great framerate and not understand why some of the walls look quite bad, but there will be parts using the same textures and parts in a later part of the game in a massive hall where if everything was ultra high detailed the game would simply not work. frankly a few walls looking poor, while dissappointing, allows the rest to look great. its better looking than any other game made as far as most people are concerned, so maybe you're asking for too much insisting it should be even better. just maybe.

Would you kindly inject that glowing goo into your arm ;)

the game does not in any way look crap

Look, I'm saying, in some parts I think the textures do look crap, and I aint the only one, you can clearly see were the textures are not very good, even the blood splatters are not that good, look abit pixelated close up.

I am not saying the game looks crap, just bits, its a very nice looking game, one of the best looking games out atm, but that does not mean it does not have any low res textures.
