I remember when HalfLife2 was due out then FarCry crept to market and blew everyone away. HalfLife2 didn't have the same impact as the original due to timing. I wonder if Bioshock does the same to Crysis?

Yes, exactly. This is what I think is going to happen. Crytek should have released Crysis earlier in the year as expected (originally crysis was promised for the end of 2006!). If BioShock is as good as expected then it's going to hit some developers very hard indeed.

yea that rez of 1920x1200 dipping to the 20's makes sense but not 1400x900, iv not downloaded the demo yet so ill get on it now but it sounds like its another rainbow 6 vegas to me.

t's absolutely nothing like Vegas, it's miles ahead.

For starters even if it runs at 25-30fps it's totally smooth and responsive.

id prefer 60fps

Then you need to get a proper dx10 card - 2900xt and 8800gts/x are not proper dx10 cards, they are dx10 but only a first of the generation.

oh then define a proper dx10 card and point me in the direction of where one can be found

dunno why people want to defend this game so much. people jumped out and complained that rainbow 6 vegas, DIRT, TDU etc were all badly programmed but when it comes to bioshock which from the sounds of it is another rainbow 6 vegas, people want to defend it.

guess from this game i now know what to expect from unreal torunament 3.

im just gonna wait for crysis.

I'm curious why everyone is so keen to get the demo, and why they're up in arms about being "betrayed" because it's not come out in a timely fashion.

Playing a demo of a game that you're definitely going to buy anyway seems to me a bit like knowing on Dec 20th what half of your Christmas presents are going to be.

I fail to understand your logic. You have been told first hand by various reviews that the game runs very nicely on decent settings on mid range hardware.

Quite honestly, Crysis is going to be techically brilliant, but as a game I very much doubt it will better Bioshock.
