**The one and only Official BioShock Thread**- now with added **SPOILERS**

wow! once thing i LOVED is the realistic movement of you as the player, when things move around, large explosions... you stutter around, try to keep your balance, like lost planet, but controllable.... its awsome :D

very pleased with this game, wasnt happy that i had to force AA and AF through NV control panel, and not as muuch control on settings as i would like. but still 9/10

So you got fsaa working through the control panel? I didn't think it would work by doing that.

Anyone fry the microphone when they saw it, i liked how it knocked down and then had a sorta broke sound go over the tannoy hehe. Be interesting to see what other little extra cool things u can do to things with placid powers.

Took 20 screens

clicky

Really doesn't sem to support crossfire judging by framerate in some of those pics. Thats with the dx10 effects enabled.

You have VSYNC on in those?

Also your FPS seems to drop a fair bit on the start bit, mine didn't drop below 30 on that part. On DX10

Wonder what adaptor number -1 is, seems that could be changed to support multiple cards possibly?
i think it means that it uses the default windows display adaptor, and dont forget, there's an activation procedure so even if you do get it on thursday, you still can't play it...

So the games are region coded? I doubt it tbh.

If this has not been posted I found a very fast download link combined with Free Download Manager (free utility from Winfiles) - I was getting 680 while downloading when all the other sites I tried were no better than 50. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the performance with my single core. Not great by some of your standards but good enough for me. Did not drop below 27 once and average about 45 with everything maxed at 1680x1050 and x2 AA in the control panel. I was going to get this on the 360 but now I know it runs OK on my single core.

It dosn't I see enough people claiming that they have enabled AA through there drivers. But the bottom line is this game does not support AA. Until a chucky patch or w.e is released It wont work anyway until then...

Tom do you know if ATi have any more optimising to do?

Since we haven't really gotten a Bioshock optimised driver, but a hotfix for a problem, which was quick and much appreciated, but just wondering.

Will next months release bring more Bioshock performance tweaks?

Probably more to do with cpu speeds then, yours at 3.6 mine at 3.

That was DX10 mind it was at least double with DX9

As for optimising I would presume that's it for DX9 since thats performing great. The ATi driver is very young and that has a long way to go still so Id think DX10 improvements for sure to come.

Ok, Make sure all Types of AA are disabled in CCC because even a single card will not run,
Crossfire turns on catalyst Ai by default, dissable it to run crossfire ;)

There has been plenty of talk regarding AA and Yes Imo the game is let down by what should be a basic option

Doesn't give any boost in fps for me, im near sure cat ai has to be enabled to the basic setting to let crossfire work.

Well It would not run with it on !

I have Just reinstalled with crossfire on.... Adapter setting in .ini did nothing

According to ati it needs to be on

A. CrossFire enables performance gains in all 3D applications by default. In addition, games and other 3D applications are profiled in the ATI Catalyst™ driver for additional performance enhancements. This is managed by the Catalyst A.I. that should always be enabled. Ensure that you have Catalyst Control Center installed for optimal control. In the rare event that the an application hasn't yet been profiled in Catalyst Control Center, additional performance gains in the majority of titles can be achieved by setting the Catalyst A.I. setting to 'aggressive'.
