**The one and only Official BioShock Thread**- now with added **SPOILERS**

For a Laugh I Just downloaded the demo again from steam...25 mins :D
Took most of the day on BT, I know it was said earlier but anyone still looking for it Steam's Your friend

Defonatly prefer the controls to the PC than the 360. But could really play the game on either platforms and be perfectly happy. Seems to run perfectly smooth on my 8800GTs and 6300 so thats nice. Just not sure weather to get it for 360 or get vista and enjoy the addition of lovely particle effects :)

Speaking of the such has anyone got any screenshots of DX10 in the demo or is it not enabled in it? Just would really like to see some comparison shots to make my mind up

some DX10 shots on the last page of the 1280x1024 screenshots thread

I downloaded DEMO as a paid member of Fileplanet, it took overnight as about 130KB/Sec, and at 12am (7pm ET USA) it did not unlock my demo. :(

I grabbed it again freely from Gamershell in about 11-13mins, at 2500KB/sec. :)

Nope hardly any difference at all tbh.

Big shame really. Was hoping to see some differances such as between DX9 and 10 in Crysis.

Oh well still have to make up my mind between PC and 360 like...PC with headphones made me go POOPEY! in my pants, pretty scarey. Relaxing on my leather sofa wasnt so much :p

lol edited. Cheers mate.

**** me that was a bit short for 1.8gb. and the video at the end was very low quality. :(

still it runs ok on my meagre single core cpu and x1950pro. had to turn the details down to medium though. but i couldn't tell the difference in how it looks anyway. and with the full game, i think there's going to be so much stuff going on at once that things like detail and "jaggies" aren't really going to be an issue - well not for me anyway. i guess it's because i'm only a casual gamer i don't get too excited about aa/af levels.

Not sure if its just me but I completed the demo earlier like 5 times, went to bed for 5 mins, then came back on and had another bash at it.

I need the real game so bad lol.

Nope I must have completed the demo around 6 times now :D never gets old frying splicers who jump into the water to douse the flames they are engulfed by :D

Anyone who's still doubting the performance, don't!

I cranked up the overclocks on my x1900 xt and played the game for awhile I thought I could detect the tiniest slow down but the game was so smooth and playable (this was with everything on) that I didn't care. When I quit the game I realized my OCs weren't stable and that I'd VPU recovered. The whole time I'd been playing at 2d clocks!

Also no AA at higher resolutions is really a non issue.

Still dont know what I'm going to do.

Kill the sisters, or let them be. I do so much like a good story to the game, so I'm thinking if I save them all, the story would end "better" ?

Any thoughts ?

Nightmare, I've been trying all yesterdya and last night to get this demo. Only to wake up and the download has froze on me.

Please someone reccomend the fastest place for it. :(

If this has not been posted I found a very fast download link combined with Free Download Manager (free utility from Winfiles) - I was getting 680 while downloading when all the other sites I tried were no better than 50. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the performance with my single core. Not great by some of your standards but good enough for me. Did not drop below 27 once and average about 45 with everything maxed at 1680x1050 and x2 AA in the control panel. I was going to get this on the 360 but now I know it runs OK on my single core.
