So when the game is finished, what next?

I just got to the rail tunnel and notice there is long roads that go both ways to explore, so maybe after its compleated there will be some sort of free roam mode? of course with bad guys still.

I got the special edition too. Also I can't get any servers to load or let me in on mulitplayer.

What are your system specs? What OS are you running? I've just used the config commands and I get around 20-25FPS. I'm running:

Q6600 @ 3.2
2GB
8800GTX

Res? I get higher than that. 1680x1050 3Ghz C2D 4GB Ram, Vista x64, 8800GT.

Even with lots of action on the snow levels it's always 20+.
 
Well yep, I get min 25 when punching a building in the ovaries but that's rare, almost a constant 30 now with heavy stuff happening :D or more!

I have Q6600 (stock, I found zero benefit in overclocking for games now), 8800GT (660 core 1600 shader 900 mem) and 4GB ddr2800 (5-5-5-12-2) on Vista32.
 
Could you post your entire config and ingame settings please?

I'm running 64bit Vista so I'm thinking that may be having some effect :/
 
Ingame everything set to HIGH (DX9 mode, in DX10 mode the game looks the same but you lose up to 10fps for some reason and there is mous elag), close game and reload, you will notice that many advanced options are set to "custom" because it's loading those off the autoexec.cfg file.

Sorted! Ran in DX9 mode and voila 30fps.

A- Where do you enter all this stuff?

and

B- How on earth do you figure out what config produces the best outcome?

Been playing it at native res, no AA and all medium settings :( Any got any configs that I can use for my rig?

Would overclocking my pc help it a bit? I take my cpu to 3.6 from 2.8 and raise my graphics card by about 15%, would it be worth the hassle?

Also, After every few minutes I tend to get a stutter for 5 seconds or so, very strange as the HD or disc aren't accessing :confused:

Anyone encountered similar?

I'm stuck, think it's a bug got out of Ailen ship and I'm with Phrophet who is freezing to death due to suite damage !! any ideas people ?
 
Ok I've updated newer screenshots above and added a few more lines to the CFG file, now it looks even better, water is on "very high" now on dx9 mode, notice the dx10 screenshot compared to the dx9, virtually no difference at all apart from an FPS hit in dx10!

Also notice how in DX10 mode the RAM usage is very small, it's under 700MB whereas in DX9 mode the RAM usage is over 1.2GB - I think this is where things are slowing down since it's got to be doing things on the fly for it to have such a hit and not caching most stuff like dx9 is.

As you head out towards the objectives you will find cars on fire etc, stand by those cars for a few secs and Prophet will regen his suit as he needs a heat source.

Thanks, i think the problem is although all the Aliens are dead, 1 is stuck in the air...so the game is not triggering the next task before prophet dies, will try from a save game again !

I'd say it's the other way round - take a look at my screenshots - memory usage in DX10 for me sometimes exceeds 1800Mb and that's when the game is not leaking (and it can leak like mad, both to graphics memory and normal memory, to the point that saves sometimes corrupt themselves while paging). In DX9 it seems to be more behaved. Still use massive amount of memory, but is more stable.
 
Anyone else noticed the HUGE fps hit if you look at the big white sphere on the ice levels? When I look at that I go to the 10's!

When I look away back at 25+ even with action, VERY odd, it's basically a big white ball. :|
