Would'nt spurise me if the game was supposed to be longer, but EA put presure on Crytek for rushed pre-Xmas release to cash in. So part of the game was cut along with lack of single player testing + what seemed a rushed last 3rd etc, much like anything else EA put there name to...
I'm pretty adamant that's not true. The quality of the last part might not be what they had hoped for; but the storyline and levels are designed by the alpha stage- just with placeholder stuff. The second to last boss battle was shown at E3 2006- so they definitely wanted it in there. From reading interviews with Cevat Yerli etc, he doesn't seem like the sort of bloke to compromise his product in favour of his publisher. Lets not forget this game was originally set to come out in winter 2006.
