I found that level to be a turning point in the game. I preferred everything before the floaty level a lot more enjoyable than the stuff afterwards.

I think I spent about half an hour in total on the floaty level, but I know some people have spent ages on it. I must admit, it is quite confusing and I found myself getting lost numerous times.
 
Its certainly interesting. The suit however becomes virtually useless in this area so they've sacrificed one game mechanic for another, which is fairly disappointing as the whole section is somewhat of a novelty.
 
Like I said before its an alien environment. And it makes you feel unwelcome. The suit was designed for land/human based combat. So it wouldn't be of any use in an alien place. It really makes you feel uneasy and disorientates you.
 
For a trolling comment you do make a good point :p

I can't remember a point in the game in which using the other suit powers (armour doesn't count) was mandatory to the players progress.
 
Thats the game makers idea again. You don't have to use it at all. They were going to have you start out as a normal soldier. You would eventually get some of the suits attributes as you went along. Instead they just gave you the lot straight away. Its your choice though you can just go through without using them if you want.

You need to keep heading against the flow and once in the main chamber look to the ceiling for a re-stock of ammo and weapons. Should be plain sailing through the last lot of energy fields at the end of the main cavern; head down through 3 of them and then you are on your way outside in the snow for some alien fun.

Takes about 40 mins to complete that section I found. It felt like a tech demo for a graphics card for some strange reason, all that floating around and lovely lighting effects.
 
my crysis just crashes randomly sometimes like 10% of times especially after you die, when your waiting for it to reload. I am using the settings cyrsis recommends.

Are the patches worth getting, what is the lastest patch and how do i check which patch i have currently installed. i am using vista business 64 bit.

I thought the opposite, i found it quite boring going through badly constructed village after badly constructed village with little variation in weapons. Core level i thought was very atmospheric after which was lots of new scenery, weapons and plot.
