I got a refund because i wasnt happy. Im going to order it off the internet now, like i already had before.
 
Yup, if ATI had brought out a GTX beater back in July like they should we would be on the next gen of cards now and it wouldn't seem so bad.

I refuse to buy a 8800 series at this late stage in the graphics card day. 9800s where are you???

by the way I have just preordered Crysis. :D

Distance of view in Crysis is very long, but the distance of view for sprites is very short, which means that bushes and other props pop out 500 yards (relative) in front of you out of nowhere. It's bad to the point of looking without scope will often let you see enemies standing at their staticaly stripted location but when looking through scope they would appear to be "hidden" behind thick bushes, which without zooming in just aren't there *yet* in your field of view. Now, that's something from times of first Delta Force release.


Wouldn't that have ruined the whole "looks amazing now, even better in the future" thing?

To be fair, 99% of people with 8800 cards this game will look far from amazing now. Even SLI doesn't work properly, there is nothing to prop it up. I just don't understand what they did on E3 to make it look so good on large screen....

I contacted EA via there online customer service, stating i wanted a refund. They got back in touch asking some private information such as name, last 4 digits of card used, order number etc. About a day later i had an e-mail saying id been refunded.

Checked my bank, and i had. Crysis has gone from my EADM now, and ive uninstalled it. Ive preodered from the rain forest now ! :)

Sorry to spam, but mine too. I might do a little dance.:D I found with the demo setting dx9 to max via the configs, i got about 20 fps more and it was stable. I hope this can be done with the full game too. DX10 sucks big time. How come dx10 high is about 50% slower than dx9 high? DX10 64 bit is supposed to be quicker? :confused:

I played the demo with Shader and Post Process on Very High, everything else high, was very smooth & playable, probably only 20-25 FPS but it was playable for me.

pretty much the same as me, although i think left everything on high and had 2 or 4 aa, and was still running nice and smooth for me, even at 25-29 frames a second its very smooth and plays nicely you dont need 40+ fps for it to run smoothly
 
I swapped between 2AA and 4AA a lot, there is a nice difference with some enabled, down to personal preference if the small FPS hit is worth it or not, I'll probably run with 2AA.
