What arr you barking on about. I presented no evidence, just that colonel did and then you brushed past it, so wanted you to present your side back. What dunk was there attempted. I didn't present the evidence that you were wrong. You understand how these things work. It really to you didn't it that you tried to brush past it and it wasn't allowed of you, after you've made the point and brought it up for post after post.

Not particularly, your default assumption was that I was wrong and then when presented with an answer you brush past it/ignored it, which was apparently your initial issue with me. I just thought it was funny how you'd make a fuss about something then when it turns out I can back up the claim I made and your buddy Colonel Kink is wrong you immediately ignore and switch to some new post to try and pointlessly nit pick over.

It's pretty transparent, you're not really interested in this topic you're just trolling.

I literally asked you to back it up lol and now you're acting like you wanted a round of applause for doing what I asked, which was to provide your "evidence" rather than just brush off and ignore what was presented to you by another user.

I see this has got too complex for you now.

So you admit that I did back it up then... finally, lol. I didn't ignore what was presented to me by the other poster, he was simply wrong.

You're accusing me of the very thing you did. Then you decided to kick off over some fairly reasonable comment to Irish Tom re: the fuss over Tesla's new robot, you're clearly just trolling for the sake of it at that point.

I think I'll stick you on ignore now, you don't seem to have been able to follow much that I've said, you struggled to grasp the comparison re: Tesla's development of this prototype and existing competitors and just went off on one, it's just not particularly constructive to reply to you further when it's become apparent you don't actually want to have a discussion, there is no genuine interest in your questions/replies you're just trolling.

Twitter named Elon Musk to its board a day after it was disclosed that the chief executive officer of Tesla was the social media company’s largest shareholder. The appointment ends the possibility of Musk mounting a takeover of Twitter, capping his ownership at 14.9% during his time on the board, according to a filing with the SEC on Tuesday. He currently owns 9.2%. Twitter’s shares jumped 7% as the market opened in New York.

Yes but he never actually sat in his chair so he was never on the board in dowie's head. They might have voted him on, he might have accepted it and said he wouldn't own more than 14.9% of the company, they might have filled it with the SEC and they both announced it on Twitter but because they then fell out and Musk went, **** this! and instead decided to take the company, in dowie's head that was the plan all along. This was just a power move in Musk's plan of 4d chess and he knows this because he is of a similar intellect (in his own head) and knows exactly how Musk thinks

This thread has gone full dowie, never go full dowie.

Exactly. And the point inintialy made still stands, a point that dowie with his hole made lost. The point being that it's not how you should behave and the board were rightly upset/disturbed by it and it rightly caused an issue.

No, he was never on the board because he never formally accepted the position, he turned it down on the day he was due to take up the positon, that's just a basic fact.

It's literally explained here complete with a tweet from the CEO confirming it: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...demographic-melts-down.18950820/post-35887157

Other than some reading comprehension issue I don't understand why you'd deny that?

More to the point though board member or not board member it isn't something that necessarily stops him from criticising the company, have you never heard of, for example, activist investors?

So to summarise, no, Elon didn't serve on the twitter board.

It's not some bizarre or highly unusual for a big investor in a company to be critical of a company's executive team or board even if they want to buy it or are offered a board seat for themselves or a representative.

That's the key point - they only announced the intent to try to build a prototype a year ago...
Did they start development/R&D in August 2021 or did they just announce that they intent to go into the robot industry?

What they've achieved is impressive and no doubt their knowledge of AI/ML massively helped but, there doesn't appear to be any solid dates for when they actually started development.
Arguably Tesla could have been working on this for a few years but no one seems to really know or have any real insight other that parroting the announcement and date.

Does all feel a bit iRobot with Tesla though...

How can you not join something that, according to some people here, you're already a member of?

Why are people still arguing after it says it in black and white in that tweet?

I dunno, there seems to have been some confusion with people picking up on headlines reporting the story that he'd been appointed (in reality, was due to be appointed) and conflating that a bit. Then presumably not paying attention to or properly reading that tweet when it was shared earlier.

did he attend a board meeting, as an invitee, when they discussed if he would join the board.

are his voting rights significantly reduced if he's not on the board ie, is his membership academic.

Because that is a tweet

And the Twitter board had already filed with the SEC that he was now on the board.

So people are taking the formal/legal process view point that he was "on the board" and not the conversational Tweet that he "wasn't on the board".

He doesn't get a vote on the board until he joins it, at the time of the announcements that he was (due to be) joining pending background checks/formal acceptance but he'd not yet joined, that was due to occur on the 9th but then he notified them he'd not be taking up the board position.

Here is an updated SEC filing:

Pursuant to the April 4, 2022 letter agreement, Elon Musk was invited to serve on the board of directors (the “Board”) of Twitter, Inc. (the “Company”). On April 9, 2022, Mr. Musk informed the Company that he is not joining the Board.

So we've got the CEO confirming he didn't join the board, the SEC confirming he didn't join the board... but a couple of posters on OCUK think they know otherwise based on misreading/misunderstanding some headlines.
