The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

maybe he's going to flip it to Jeff or has someone else lined up, tesla shares are not doing so well so stalling on the purchase hasn't made it cheaper.

why would that require someone being completely thrown off?

how is that comparable to what has caused others to be thrown off?
demonstration of cooperation between social media firms applying punitive punishment to hurt her/influencer, as much as the beholdent fans who bought crypto shares,
it's meant to be the town square, not the wild west./ snake oil .. maybe sherif Musk can clean up these deadbeats.

How is he going to flip it after paying well over the market value for it? He would lose an absolute stonkload of money!

Did twitter even censor him for the "pedo guy" comment? I thought it was just bad publicity and a silly attempt to sue him by the guy who'd kind of started it anyway with his own unnecessarily rude comment.

Gotta wonder perhaps re: the banks financing part of the deal... did Elon agree to a fixed rate?

Also, Parag might be regretting his tetchy reply to Elon (his parody account below).

He got paid to supply starlink. He didn't donate it, lol.
Also in terms of PR and advertising to the likes of various smaller militaries (that can't afford their own constellations of comms satellites), it's almost certainly aced as a huge incentive for them to try and work out how to incorporate Starlink in some some into their forces.

Musk has always felt like one of those government-appointed mascots for programs that they'd rather not be directly involved in to keep up the appearance of private enterprise moving forward when vested interests otherwise stall progress. Also as a means to pull the rug from under other countries so the US remains on top.

Oh absolutely it was good PR, that doesn't take away from the fact he/SpaceX stepped up and got it done, it was a very useful donation to Ukraine.

He is going to be bond villain isnt he once he controls the narrative.

I think he's a 'made man', as it seems strange these people like him and Bill Gates get made in to super stars.

It'll be interesting if Twitter changes much.

Kind of the opposite, he's trying to uncontrol the narrative, that's one of the issues he's got with Twitter, that's a key part of his discussions with Jack too, it's the reason for his public statements/activism that some posters in here bizarrely thought was wrong or somehow an error on his part.

I do have to wonder, if this deal does go through, will Trump be back on the platform? Could be even more surreal if he's running for election again too.

Looking forward to what Elon does now, not because I think he's good for twitter, but because I think the opposite. We are about to see some very emboldened users think that it's a free for all, no rules site. And then when they find out that that isn't the case, how does twitter respond. Will they allow false information to spread like wildfire now? Will they return the banned users to no longer fear a ban?

II canbot see this doing anything but costing Musk a lot. He now is going to be the face of Twitter, and from seeing his post history, that is not good for him nor twitter as a company.

I imagine the board are happy with this news and enjoying their over paid stock, and, rival companies now should be looking to be a place for those that don't want to be on twitter once Musk rules come into force.
