Why isn't Musk calling him a liar or just flat out denying he said it. If someone said I said something I didn't I'd call them a liar or at the very least say I never said it.

That isn't denying what Bremmer is saying. Bremmer said Musk told him he spoke to Putin. Musk in his reply to Bremmer didn't deny it or call Bremmer a liar, why not? If someone said you'd said something when you hadn't you would at the very least deny it would you not? Its not like Musk has problems speaking his mind. Maybe he lied to Bremmer and never spoke to Putin but his lack of a denial is very odd.

Quite plausibly a mixup if they did speak, though you're quoting a post addressing the denial, we can see that clearly from the tweet as already pointed out.

Err, forgive my twiiter ignorance here, but doesn't the first tweet you mention have Musk saying "Nobody should trust Bremmer" directly in response to Bremmer saying "Elon Musk told me..." is that not an implicit denial?
Not that it matters btw, I've only had my dislike of Musk affirmed over the last weeks anyway.

What does that mean? It could mean no one should trust Bremmer to keep his mouth shut after being told something, couldn't it? Its a completely open statement. "I didn't tell him that" or "he's lying" is a definitive statement and Musk seems to have avoided making that statement.
That doesn't mean he spoke to Putin, he might have been lying to Bremmer.

He said it's not true. He also said he hasn't spoken to Putin since before the war and it was about space. There's 2 denials right there. I'm not sure why you're so hung up on this? Just because he didn't deny it in the exact way you want him to deny it?
