Of course you're confused. You're trying to look at it in a way that doesn't exist. It's simple and obvious why advertisers are pulling out.
Elon is now the face of twitter. Elon has spread conspiracy theory when the 3rd most powerful politician in America has an attempted attack/murder. He does it in such a childish way. This looks bad in Elon, who is now the face of twitter, so it looks bad in twitter, and advertisers don't like that.
Elon responds like a god damn child to AOC about that endless charge to the creators and compares it to a one off charge to a customer.
Elon now posts just like trump. "waaaa look at all the nasty people making me fail. It's not my fault. You're all so mean. It's use v.s them."
Advertisers don't like that one bit.
They are smart to pull back and access these changes and see if twitter brand still fits their goal.
My guess is, if things continue the way they have, twitter won't be the place to advertise on any more.
And then the vicious cycle really starts. Elon gets more and more desperate to make money as good companies go.
He brings back users like trump and the rest, and then emboldens them to post more rubbish.
More advertisers go.
More users go.
Elon go.
But at least Elon is going to stsrt charging £8 per month on Monday. Genius.
