Lol at resorting to “skinny arm gang”, what is it with right wingers and their obsession with trying to demeans the lefts physique and appearance, it’s like the term soyboy… just utterly bizarre.

Me right wing, me big many man, you lefty soyboy who can’t tell difference between man and woman.

Proper primitive behaviour lol

Don't make a mockery of my right arm. Left one, definitely.

You can argue this all night long (and you will) context is irrelevant here. What everyone apart from you has taken away from this is Musk saying vote Republican. His excuse for saying it is he thinks split government is better. Better for who? Better for him? Better for independent voters? Nothing gets done with spilt government so who is the winner here?

Well, that's not true and you can literally just read what he said and see the context... you love to do this though, just deny facts when they're presented to you.

It's mostly tongue-in-cheek to be fair, but there is some truth to it.

Dowie your going to have a busy night writing to all the news editors then loads of news sites got it wrong as well

Reuters
Politico
WashingtonPost

No not really, see my earlier post, that's standard clickbait:

That some headlines are misleading doesn't negate the point that you posting it like that is also misleading/lacks context... publications love clicks/hype and will often only put in the context in the article. You omitted it completely and have then doubled down on it after it's been pointed out.

Try the first link, that headline isn't as bad, that he's personally backed them is true and a slightly different claim to the one about him telling others to - that definitely needed more context, now we can look at the article.. the thing the headline wanted to draw our attention to:

Reuters said:
"Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,"

They've at least given *some* of the context in the body of the article, they've omitted the first line and the second tweet so missing that it was addressed to independents though.

If you want to see whether I'm right or not then just read the actual tweets, they're right here, currently pinned on his profile:

You really will believe anything he tweets won't you. Who does it serve if Republicans take Congress? Democrats want to tax billionaires and want to give tax breaks to EV car makers that have unionised workforces. Something Musk has fought against with Tesla.

So while you might be buying his "worst excesses" bull **** he's got massive amounts of skin in this game and using Twitter, a company he has just purchased to tell people to vote Republican just seem off to me. Like I said earlier, it would be like Bezos using a full front page of the Washington Post to tell people to vote for a party because it was politically beneficial for him.

publications just want click bait - his republican comment was trolling and playing both sides , not wanting to alienate either side he knows which side his twitter is buttered.

have the volume of tweets increased during his ownership , if people are clicking on all the OC links, twitter must be contributing some good imprints.

The point I'm making has nothing to do with belief, it doesn't matter what I personally believe, I could personally believe he's a total liar but the point I made is still true.

If you believe what he has to say on that matter then yes:

"twitter usage it at an all time high lol"?

That is good to hear though, it's not the true stats. This thread has a lot of twitter posts in it, but it's not twitter that's being used as such. I wonder is twitter downloads/uninstall on mobiles at an all time high, what about users closing accounts. The usage may be higher by those that use it, but I wouldn't have thought it was good usage, more like when trump was insicitng a coup and everyone was tuning in to see what he said. News agencies around the world refreshing to get the news of his latest tweets the second it hits etc.

To those that think blue tick paying for and allowing anyone to have it is a good thing, I have a question.

at the moment blue ticks are typically only for notable people/celebs. When a blue tick cleeb puts out a tweet, they have the ability to see replies from just other blue tick users, so they can easily find replies they've had from notable celebs and then reply to it. Really useful for someone with say a million followers. How will they still get this if now the blue tick only users is just full of randoms and the notable celebs get lost in say 30k other blue tick replies?

Celebs can buy golden stars for only $100pcm. ;)

wont somebody please think of the poor celebs :(

I imagine the owner wants to be thinking about them given they are the creators that create something that 100 million users then view, and they view it along with adverts next to it.

Make it worse for those celebs = less content = less adverts shown..
There's nothing stopping them from 'creating'? The issue of filtering out the replies from the normies that will be blue check marks is entirely different. 99% of the time most of these celebs barely break 1000 replies anyway unless it's something hyper partisan like a political hot take.

It's already been stated that there will be a separate public figure tag:

If they could previously filter by blue checks then presumably filtering by that would be an obvious solution to this very pressing celeb issue.

I'd presume the public figure tag would result in such users appearing higher in the replies as a matter of course anyway, even if there wasn't a filter option for celebs etc. I guess we'll see after launch.

It's just a shame that the chief twit didn't bring in the new tag before making the existing one meaningless...

Or even better, that he didn't didn't just bring in the new mark for the marks who are paying $8 a month to be his product.
Mind you so far nothing about the Musk takeover of Twitter has shown any sign that it was actually thought through and planned.

It's because he's a genius, you just don't understand his approach. His net worth clearly shows that he knows more than you about everything. His arm is stronger than yours.

It's a combination of the sloping forehead our right whinging brethren have and the massive chip on the shoulder that causes their knuckles to drag on the ground.

It's almost like there was already layers of blue check marks before musk took over twitter and there will be layers once he's done adding in monetization... I'm outraged I tell you! Outraged!! Admittedly it's because he comes across as righty not a lefty, but I'm still outraged!!
