I think Musk would have been better creating a new subscription class with badge rather than trying to convert the already established tick.

I mentioned that earlier in the thread. Leave the blue tick for authentication and then add a 3 tier star system for features.

No it's still just another made-up term/condition by people who for whatever reasons can't handle elite figures in a society coming under heavy criticism from sections of the public. It's also used as a lazy way of dismissing criticism, 'oh you're just obsessed' blah blah blah.

Yep, the CEO I work with daily is driven, has vision, definitely pushes the company to new heights but he certainly has strong reality distortion.. He has much in common with Musk and that's both good and bad.. if you can't handle this kind of personality (which many can't), best to stay well clear!
I've just realised Yoel Roth quit this morning.. that was the last bastion of the old guard of the safety and integrity, I was confused when Musk hadn't fired him, he had some partisan views he'd aired and I think was key in some of the high profile censorship.He was only on that advertisers call the other day with Musk trying to allay fears..

Has anyone done the correlation and causation study (ha! take that, education, if that even is your real name, which I doubt) between the trump loons and the musk loons in the various threads here and in SC (noting our best examples are excluded from at least one of those data spots).
If not, why not?

Are you new to the internet? People are trolling Elon, $8 is a couple of lattes. There are no shortage of people who love to do these things. They've been so good at it they forced Elon to shut down Twitter allowing new verified accounts.

Just seeing that Musk's lawyer (not Twitters) is now telling twitter employees they'll be fine legally for doing the work that used to be done by the compliance team to make sure the law wasn't broken about various things, the programmers etc being asked to do this will be taking personal legal responsibility if they sign off for compliance and will end up in court if they fail to do what is legally required and most of them won't have a clue as to what is legally required (that's the reason you have a specialist team, or at least you do in any company that wants to keep being a company and not a source of ever increasing fines to regulators).
To paraphrase what i've seen several lawyers say "god no", as Musk's lawyer is NOT their lawyer and even if he was working as their lawyer there would be a huge conflict of interest taking place.

Also seeing that people whose accounts are set to private are potentially having their messages available outside of the people who are meant to be able to see it (so the privite setting may not be working reliably), and apparently people's tweets are disappering when they click send, so it sounds like the number of bugs are increasing as things start to go wrong/not be monitored and fixed, or twitter's remaining programmers are breaking things in their attempts to appease the almighty muck,
