The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Musk poured $44 billion into Twitter. The global population is 8 billion people. He could have given $5 billion to each individual and still had money left over. Most people's lives would be changed if they received a $5 billion check. But he squandered it all on Twitter.

huh?

$5 billion x 8 billion is not 44 billion

Do you mean $5?

On the other way to look at it, if Elon wanted to destroy Twitter from the outside, he could have offered all 7500 Twitter employees $5milliion each to quit their jobs ($5mil x 7500 = 37.5 bil) and still have $6.5 billion left over.

Copy and pasta from YT, with the schoolboy error included.

Double fail.

No it's not. He's a highly, but specifically, intelligent person with major character flaws which have probably been amplified by getting lucky and ending up the richest man in the world as a result of that intelligence.

I don't doubt he is intelligent in some sense. He's also a moron who when left to his own devices makes bad decisions.

See this is fair. Why do people have to swing so heavily against him or for him. Lets see him for who he is. He is a highly intelligent man who may or may not deserve to be the richest man on the planet. He is far from from being a moron.

If he is a moron what does that make me? The biggest tool around I suspect acording to Dialup.

There is definitely a set of values being instilled by corporations and the media on the Western public. I don't know if it's a shady cabal, but there is a "message" being pushed on us.
Which 'message' would that be? If you're taking about brands hopping on the LGBT or BLM bandwagons then that's not pushing a message, that's them wanting to be associated with things that they think their customers are into. The beauty of consumerism if that if you don't like 'the message' then you can choose brands that align more with your own values

So, Donald Trump was reinstated to Twitter by popular vote, why do these brands think their customers are into that? I stopped buying Gilette razors but that's it.

Are you not describing demagoguery....? ;)

Was chatting to a marketing director about 12 months ago - apparently that ad cost them around $450m in lost sales.......! They parted ways with the woke director!

They can blame the woke director, but I assume everyone was happy with the advert when it was presented to the board of directors because it was shown on TV.

You lot make me laugh. Stop buying Gilette due to inclusion message in a single advert. Love Musk despite all the terrible boss things he has done to his workforce and the way he comes across though.

Have you ever thought that maybe it isnt the rest of the world that has the issues?

I preferred the bit where he asked why companies would care and then said he'd boycotted a company because of their messaging. There's rarely a post from him without some sort of amusing hypocrisy in there.

That makes zero sense Tony.

Gilette lost hundreds of millions of dollars because they got irrationally preachy about identity politics and people rejected it en-masse..

The Trump poll on twitter was 52% of 15 Million votes for allowing him back on..

Maybe the majority of people really don't like preachy nonsensical ideologies rammed down their throats because they can see the effect of those ideologies are the exact opposite of what they claim they are standing for..

No, I said why do brands think their customers are into woke politics? Nothing suggests that. I doubt most customers are interested in having politics of any sort shoved down their throats, but it's some how acceptable when it's controversial left wing politics.
