The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Oh noes an advert told men to not be *****, I feel so attacked and hurt by this that I’m going to go and relentlessly cry about it non stop on the internet for a couple weeks.

Not once in my life have I ever felt under attack for being a man. It’s a preachy advert ffs, who gives a toss. It was the ultimate example of bandwagon outrage which plagues social media.
And they lost money and customers over it, capitalism at its finest. I notice they havent churned out similar guff since then so i doubt it worked for them.

oh right.
Did you know Elon purchased twitter recently? I wonder if he'll reinstate trump.

Your still not getting it I see
Or maybe your one of the affected so thats why you cant see it

Some people here defend Trump like hes the messiah, they also defend Elon like hes the messiah.
Trump says Elon went for help due to his various failing projects, do you understand that?

FWIW I think its all normal Trump BS.

No need to squirm fella.

That's fine, it's a razor company that I give zero ***** about either way. I do wonder how many of the people who moan about cancel culture were involved in the outrage and boycotting though, a sizeable amount I'm sure.

When something they like gets canceled its 'cancel culture', but when something they dislike gets canceled it's 'capitalism at its finest' :p

yes, i also know that the outrage you are trying to generate won't happen as the screengrab is from months ago, no one cares. That's what you aren't understanding.

His role is supported by plenty of comments from others present.

I think people are in danger of wildly over-correcting their views of Musk. There is a substantial middle ground between "Musk is a genius" and "Musk is an unhinged dork who just got lucky".
Yea, see the history goes is he's praised, then someone does digging, then its lies, the man doesn't even hold the qualifications that he said.

He's praised because he's created several successful, innovative companies, what are you even talking about here?

This is what annoys me about virtue signalling, it’s just fake principles for personal gain. The moment there’s no gain, or even a cost, the “principles” are immediately abandoned.

Musk has crushed the hopes of Alex Jones' simps. He will not be allowed back on Twitter.

Too bad Kim, you gargled those balls for nothing.

Just for those that support either of them, and don't quite understand how the world works and how terrible people are yet:

- Trump is not a good person, and lies to you constantly
- Elon Musk is not a good person, and lies to you constantly.

That is the truth. You can make up a story in your brain that tells you it isn't true, but it is.

Jesus I said a headscratcher, hows that trying to create outrage

What I was point out is exactly what your demonstrating could well happen, the inability for those affected to handle the contradiction, what your struggling with is cognitive dissonance.
Its why your struggling to make my post something it isn't

Elon Man Bad

Cause..ya know..he hasnt..he bought into companies already well developed and established, he didnt create any of them. And they ALL relied massively on tax payers subsidies.
I mean, look at what he has done at Twitter, the only thing hes been left alone with, and look how badly hes doing.

I get it, you didn't know trump said that 6 months ago, that's fine. There is no 'head scratching' moment as when trump posted his little diatribe people just chuckled and moved on.

I don't think it's quite as simple as you make out - psychologists the world over are calling out this challenge. I agree it's not the advert, it's more a symptom of a broader issue - we are currently doing men a huge disservice in my opinion (and others) in the lack of concern we have for their wellbeing and the overly coddled concern for women.

I have two children girl of 6 and a boy of 4.

I have absolutely no concerns about the girl - she's growing up in a world where every computer course will be weighted towards letting her in, every opportunity afforded to her. The whole educational curriculum has been restructured to support girl's learning styles (hence girls out perform boys at every level since they did this) and so on.

However, my boy is growing up and I'm amazed at how many 'boys toys' are no longer available from when I was a child - as a boy he will underperform girls at primary, secondary and tertiary education, when he goes to university, for most core subjects he will have to work harder to get the same access and or grades, he's more likely to have depression, more likely to be jailed, more likely to have a harsher sentence, more likely to commit suicide, more likely to die in the workplace, more likely to be homeless, more likely to sleep on the streets and so on and so on and so on....

Don't get me wrong, many of these are reflections of male traits (eg risk taking), but to say there's no problem out there just doesn't reflect reality.

(and yes I am defensive about my boy!)
