Not at all.

Take the actual politicians from two ends of the spectrum for example:

On the one side America had an objectively ridiculous man elected, calling an election rigged when he lost, and inciting a violent insurrection at the US capitol to try and stay in power.

On the other, you have an old chap from vermont who wants universal healthcare.

You talk about being rational adults, but that term cannot be used if you are then going to talk about someone like Trump (for example). There is no argument worth making in support of him. He's genuinely and objectively a garbage human who should be nowhere near political office.

Nothing springs to mind really, I do not even have a twitter account. However I am with Elon that within the bounds of the law a person should be free to express his or her opinion openly and not be threatened.
From an agnostic, liberal, conservative viewpoint.
 
There will be no debate on twitter no matter who runs it.

People don't want to debate, they just want to repeat someone else's opinion ad nauseam until everyone else gives up.

I'm minded to recite Cipolla's five laws of stupidity,

  1. Always and inevitably, everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
  2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
  3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
  4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular, non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places, and under any circumstances, to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.

Twitter was going down. Nobody can please everyone. There as to be a compromise. If people won't agree to a compromise then that's on them.

I think it shows how toxic the extremists were in the way they were bullying Jack Dorsey. We can see it with how they are talking about their new boss. They think they have the right to belittle their boss.

Most of them need to be fired. It's not a game.

Twitter deserves to go down. Nothing should be permanent in capitalism.

Ideologically I agree with your statement.

The sad observation I've made about capitalism is most of the time the company doesn't invest or innovate. So the product is just left in state.

I think Twitter needs to implement the rules the UK government bill is proposing i.e. have the ability to be authenticated and then have the ability to not see those not authenticated.

I think we should all be in a VR world by now.
