The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Is that another joke or are you being serious? Hard to tell if your post is just one big joke or not.

Why not add something funny next time so that people can tell?

Lol made myself laugh
The joke was you claiming something and then posting a 1 minute 11 seconds long video to try to prove said nonsense only for the video to prove the opposite. Not only that, but the title of the video should have been a huge clue to begin with as it was even labeled as the total opposite of your claim! it did make me laugh tho, haven't seen a self own like that in quite a while, so thanks I guess :D

Lefty, righty, centrist, moderate, blah blah

Being honest his political leaning isn’t really what makes him come across as a bit of a chode.

It’s his constant need for attention and praise on social media. Seeing someone in their 50s endlessly post cringe memes about themselves in the hopes of a virtual noshing off from strangers is very weird.

Would be the same if Bezos, Gates etc did the same. Luckily they don’t, presumably because they aren’t as desperate for social media likes.

I find if I don't like someone then I just don't follow them on social media, some of you might want to try that

Jesus I can't find any comedy or anything in what you're posting. I'll keep digging to see if it's there and get back to you if a smile or anything comes from your posts.

Well clearly you don't enjoy his content, why are you reading his tweets? Do you also watch TV shows you don't like and write complaints? There's an off switch basically.

So you want me to live in an echo chamber where I never read or watch stuff I disagree with ?

I don’t even have a Twitter account, only time I see his tweets are on things like forums or news articles.

The idea I actively follow him eagerly waiting for his tweets is some narrative you’ve created in your head because you can’t handle even the most timid criticism of him.

If that's true that Musk asked people to post links CSM to him, that in itself shows how utterly clueless he is in regards to the law in many countries as that could mean both the person who sent him the link and he himself could be comitting offences.
There are extremely good reasons systems are in place on these platforms for reporting, and those systems are arranged with the help of lawyers and law enforcement.

You always write sensible posts except you completely discount the fact that Elon has a large legal team and knows everything you point out. You consistently talk as if he's someone making his first strides in business where as it is literally a joke to him that he owns so many businesses he calls himself a business magnet. I'd probably give him the benefit of the doubt in the same way you do the previous Twitter administration.

Same for me

I don't have twitter, don't understand how to use it sometimes. I do however get to enjoy tweets of his and laugh at them on this forum, on imgur, even BBC are quoting his funny tweets.

The thing to take from roar, is that he's not wanting you to unfollow really as it's a ridiculously simple idea that the issue is that we are following someone we don't like, it's that roar wants you to stop saying negative things about Elon. That's "the nuance" as he likes to put it.

Yeah, there is a bit of that in here and on Twitter, it seemed to be the case with the apple tax too. Elon sought to highlight that issue and preemptively go after Apple given some apparent risk re: the app store but people were acting as though he didn't know about the 30% apple tax!

It's not like he's sat there in Twitter HQ by himself, there are still staff present after the layoffs + various VC types and engineers he's brought with him.

Similarly, with his politics, the assumption that he's perhaps massively ignorant seems misplaced, he's been a political donor for a couple of decades now not to mention an active bidder for government contracts... But I'm sure the SC regulars on a predominantly UK-based internet forum are better informed on US politics than a guy who has been directly engaging with the US government and politicians at a high level for years and very likely has hired political consultants and paid lobbyists in Washington DC.

Also, while I'm not a fan of credentialism, getting the US equivalent of a 1st class honours degree in Physics (at a US equivalent to Oxbridge) generally requires some intelligence!

Sure, anyone saying Elon is only a dumb low iq person is clearly incorrect, and in the same way, anyone saying Elon is only a smart guy that doesn't make mistakes is also incorrect. What is true, is that Elon has made smart decisions, and he also is making stupid ones.

Something lost on some users that just can't accept that Elon is capable of doing something wrong simply because he did something right before.

Elon is an idiot. Elon has made extremely stupid decisions with twitter. Elon is smart. Elon makes smart decisions in other walks of life.

Hopefully this post doesn't confuse and the point is clear.

His legal team will cost more than everyone in this threads combined earnings probably lol
