The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

No as buildings regulations are for permanent structures not tents

Unless your trying to make some whataboutism point that a city should not enforce certain rules because it has a homeless problem

It's not really a whataboutism, it's more like, having people sleep in an office is magnitudes less severe an issue than the pandemic of drug fueled homelessness currently affecting that city, so maybe direct your resources in that direction.

So it is exactly whataboutism.

What do you think whataboutism is? :D

but they are entirely different problems and a lot of money is spent on the homeless..The fact is providing an actual home in a shelter is insufficient to solve homelessness because the homeless don't want to be there, however much you spend on therapy to help convince them it is for their best.

Exploiting workers due to financial or legal problems is much more serious

Right-wingers: Screw the homeless! If you're poor then it's your fault. Personal responsibility FTW!!

* Someone inspects Daddy Elon's HQ to see if meets regulations *

Right-wingers: How dare they!! Don't they know there are homeless people around?

lol

Add to that another latest one:

Right wingers "trump was right to release 5000 prisoners to the taliban for (checks notes) absolutely no prisoner swap at all"

Right wingers "Biden just did a 1 for 1 swap of prisoners. He's rubbish. Impeach him"

Lol

People are living on the streets in tents, is the city enforcing the rules on those people as fervently?

I just thought of an even better one.

Elon spends 44 billion on a social media site

Right wingers "genius move. Elon will save us all"

There's literally people dying of hunger in the world that could have been saved if the richest man in the world had donated even just 10 billion of his 250 billion wealth.

Right wingers "not Elon's problem. You can't expect him to help others. He has his own life to sort out. Why should have even pay more tax. It's unfair on Elon."

Lol

There's zero reason to complain that Elon is possibly getting investigated for putting up unlicensed accommodation in his building.

Go ahead and do it where you are, get it publicised and the council will come round wanting a few grand in fines and then have a dim view of you requesting a licence afterwards.

I think the licence costs here are excessive but the reasoning for the licensing and inspections are to make sure you're not stuffing people in death traps or have inadequate facilities available.

Twitter Files 3.0 was another nothing burger. Meanwhile, Musk is still practicing the old ways...

I don't see how that is a nothing burger?

I wonder how that happens, oh, here is an example in the replies:

Also here's the former head of trust and safety, Twitter was a bit sensitive to the "groomer" insult some anti-woke types liked to put in replies (the use of that word triggered sanctions by Twitter):

but they are entirely different problems and a lot of money is spent on the homeless..

It certainly is:

$60k per tent per year, for meals, showers and some security:

San Francisco’s homelessness department is pushing to continue an expensive tent encampment program that it says is crucial for keeping people off the sidewalks, despite its high price tag of more than $60,000 per tent, per year.

Exploiting workers due to financial or legal problems is much more serious

I'm sure plenty of lawyers, bankers and games developers have on occasion slept in the office, but providing some ad hoc facilities to do it is suddenly a huge deal?

***edit***

Anecdotal, obviously. But here's my experience of Twitter under Musk.

Spam accounts following me are up. They all follow the same pattern - female names, only thing that they post (if they post at all) is pics of scantily-clad young women.

Similarly, if I leave my DMs open I'm getting a lot more spam messages. Either entreaties to get involved in cryptocurrency, or 'job' opportunities to 'make $$$$s' on Amazon marketplace.

The trending pages are even less useful than they used to be. And they were already something that I tended to avoid.

For all Elon's talk about speeding the app and site up, I can't say I've noticed an improvement. If anything the site now possibly loads up slower for me (Vivaldi browser, Win11 desktop). The app on Android doesn't appear to have gotten any worse or better.

He really is loving conversing with these MAGA loons. A CT who was pushing for Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act in the lead up to Jan 6th. Its not like he is more dangerous to the US Constitution than some account throttling on Twitter is it... oh wait..

Do you remember when roar excused the reason why Elon hasn't released the negative republican stuff by saying "give him time" lol.

It is quite telling that all the alt fact posters seem to support Elon the most and are quite happy to make up stuff so they can cope with the lies. Sorry spread of misinformation.

'Is there any misinformation in particular that your concerned about?' No Elon all the misinformation is concerning, very concerning. All of it. Every single Tweet, every single word of it.

'You may have put accommodation up that breaks the rules'

Defenders. What about all the homeless people? lolol
