The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

No idea how these things work, but is that even possible given Musk owns it?

In theory the CEO can sack any employee including Elon Musk in his employee/exec capacity (unless there is some special contractual reason preventing him) but.... Elon is likely to remain as a board member (if not Chairman) and the board (which Elon controls via his equity in the company) can sack the CEO and appoint a new one.

It's possible, Steve Jobs was fired by Apple at one point (or Martin Eberhard from Tesla!), but I think it has to be done by the board of directors. Does Twitter even have one of those anymore?

Actually, that last bit is a good point, it's private now it can simply have one director, bit moot anyway since if it has a board Elon controls it and if it doesn't then he's the sole director anyway and can sack/appoint the CEO.

Got to say between "No one wants the job who can actually keep twitter alive." and "... as soon as i find someone foolish enough to take the job." I can't imagine he's going to be putting a lot of time and effort into finding a new CEO and will likely just stay in the job for the next little while at least.

The fact Elon is staying on as some form of exec kinda undermines any new CEO anyway like ultimately Elon has that big chunk of equity and whether or not he is officially appointed as a Chairman he's presumably still going to be a board member and even regardless of that he'll still control most of the rest of the board seats so can basically still sack the CEO anyway?

Everyone when the new CEO is announced

Never seen so much commentary on the movement of staff at a company, it's like everyone's on first name terms with each developer the second Elon took over.

George Hotz is kind of a big deal. He's the intellect your boy Elon wishes he was.

Seems like a very talented guy, I remember when the iPhone was hacked. He's worked for a lot of different companies, perhaps it's not entirely Twitters fault he didn't stay on too long.

I can't believe I used to hugely respect the guy. don't get me wrong he clearly has his talents but the more I read about him the more it shows what a vindictive over bearing berk he is....

He was good back years ago. There's Probably many reasons, but I can't see how anyone would not change for the worse when you become the richest man alive, especially when it's not for a proper reason. Tesla shares should not equal richest man alive but it did.

Be thankful to see the truth and not be some user on this forum that can't stop trying to spin the news and blame others for Elon's failures and then have everyone laughing at them for 5 pages.

Well this is rather spicey

Very spicy

The police called the security team member a "suspect." They did not say what crimes they suspected him of committing, but said they were investigating a report of "an assault with a deadly weapon involving a vehicle."
At no time during the incident did the victim identify the suspect or indicate the altercation was anything more than coincidental," police said.
In their statement, police said a 29-year-old man from Connecticut had pulled off a highway shortly before 10 p.m. to use his cellphone in a gas station. While parked, the man said another vehicle pulled directly in front of him, blocking his path, according to police.

The driver of the second vehicle, described by police as Musk’s security team member, then accused the Connecticut man of following him, police said. Each party captured video during the dispute, they said.

Police said that as Musk's security team member was leaving the parking lot, he struck the Connecticut man with his vehicle.

:)

Did make me laugh yesterday when the results of the poll for him stepping down was being questioned (bots) but the polls for letting nazis etc and Trump back on weren't questioned at all because they get the result they wanted. Its almost like elections in the US these days, win and its great, lose and its fraud.

I then saw a tweet which I can't find now, where after it was put to Elon that only paying Twitter Blue subscribers should get to vote and he agreed to implement that, this person justified that idea by stating the founding fathers only wanted male land owners to vote so only letting people who pay vote was American  Its amazing the hoops these Elon bros jump though.
