That kid could end up getting some mega payout from Elon over this.

Yeah whole story just seems weird.

Probably get a payout and NDA to go away

Not sure where the info came out about him thinking Grimes was sending messages perhaps that was misinformation or still true who knows.

I'm fairly sure that came from the Washington Post piece where they spoke to the guy and he said that.

That ties in with the other claim though... previously we heard this guy was on the hood, but the opposing claim is now that he was hit by a car driven by security - car driven at him or he jumped on the hood or both?

As for the comment about a payout, I'm not sure an apparent weird stalker guy is going to get a mega payout as a result of a confrontation where no one was arrested, no reports of anyone being injured etc. I'm sure he'd be great in court telling the jury about his belief that Elon is after him and Grimes has been communicating with him via hidden messages in her social media posts or whatever nonsense he came out with.

If the security guard used the vehicle as a weapon and is arrested and indicted then why wouldn't the guy be looking at a payout? The police are investigating the security guard for those allegations. Unless they felt their lives or the life of their protectie was in danger they can't run people over and there is nothing to suggest he was threatening anyone at that time.

I'm commenting on what has happened so far. I doubt a "mega payout" is on the cards and again see the other comment about him being a bit of a loon.

I mean maybe he can sue for something if the security guard is indeed arrested and charged but that's not happened (yet) and the security guard has his own version of events about this antifa-looking stalker guy with his face covered following him.

I think he's jumping on the accountability and anti-corruption bandwagon given he has personally given them aid, unlike any US Politician who has simply given other people's money

As I said they don't fill suitcases with used dollar bills. Its military aid, weapons, kit.

His comments that Ukraine should hand over large chucks of its country to Russia as a reward for invading still doesn't sit well.

Starlink in Ukraine was the best advertising Starlink has ever had. It put it in the news worldwide, where as only space nerds had heard of it befoe that. You can't buy advertising like that.

It's so strange you assume the worst about him but US Polticians who literally get jobs working for Raytheon and Lockheed Martin after leaving office are the good guys and are helping out Ukraine from the goodness of their hearts?

The current US Secretary of defence is a millionaire after working for Raytheon for a few years before he got his current job https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd_Austin#Private_sector

You're all over the Tories about PPE but somehow have a blind spot for this stuff?

DOD budgets are well known to be iffy and unaccounted for

I judge people on their words and actions. Elon has said he would hand over the land Russia stole by invading Ukraine. Has the Sec Def said Ukraine should hand over that land? If he did I would call him out as well.

Funny you don't normally seem to have a problem with capitalism and the rich but now people leaving government service to the private sector is a problem for you.

They are supplying arms and support to Ukraine because its the best thing to do from all perspectives. Its great for the US economy, its better for Europe if Putin is defeated and Russia put back within its borders with a bloody nose.

Yes I was all over the Tories giving contracts to their donors and mates for covid PPE and the like because it was blatant corruption. If corruption is found within the US defence industry over the Ukraine war the DOJ should deal with it.

What has that got to do with Ukraine? Are the same politicians calling for corruption investigations for military aid to Israel? If there is corruption with the DoD and US defence industry then it should be investigated but some politicians are attempting to tie it to Ukraine for political purposes.

Oh nice you're judging people on their actions because SpaceX has give more than $80million in support. Elon thinks Ukraine will have to give up the territory in the end, so it isn't that he wants to "hand over stolen land", it's more like he thinks that outcome is inevitable so the pragmatic approach would be to to give up the land and draw up peace terms. He doesn't want that outcome (giving up land), he simply believes that will be the outcome.

I sometimes think you struggle with understanding complex points being made by people, you almost always jump to things meaning what they don't, which is usually framing the person you don't like in the worst possible light.

Do you think there's no conflict of interest in someone who worked at Raytheon awarding billions in defense contracts to that company, is that itself not corruption? He was paid millions of dollars by that company and is now awarding them government contracts, I'd imagine if it was Jacob Rees-Mogg doing it you might see an issue.
