The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

No, how about the ones that don't work for him. You just come across as childish continuing with this.

So that Tom guy is saying stratus is wrong, as Elon not only doesn't know the first thing about building rockets, but he also hires those who don't know about building rockets too? :p

You know @Trusty, adding the childish insult doesn't add anything. You could have just said your first sentence and left it. You had to add a childish remark and it weakens your post. I don't mind if you do that, we are all having fun, but you can't complain about someone coming across as childish, while yourself being childish with your reply.

I'm not being childish, calling someone childish for continuing to insist Musk doesn't know anything about rockets is exactly what it says on the tin. Childish

Somehow people will still believe this man is not an idiot and/or insane

Given that Tom (the man who is blatantly actually qualified in building and designing rockets) has now started his own space company specialising in the ‘last mile’ delivery of spacecraft, he’ll need other companies to actually put his craft into orbit and then outbound to the chosen target (currently Mars).

At the moment, he’s partnered with Relativity who have yet to launch one of their 3D printed rockets, but it isn’t beyond possibility that he has to go back to SpaceX in the future to request a launch vehicle. He’s not going to badmouth his former boss on Twitter and burn all those bridges - he may even need an injection of capital. Also, give his recent posts on the platform, I’d guess he still has a lot of SpaceX shares. Those are still climbing in value, unlike the Tesla ones…

I could be completely wrong on all that, and maybe Elon is somehow a genius who knows the finer points of rocket design. Given the way he was forced into buying Twitter when he didn’t want to, and the current state of the platform, plus all the other rubbish he comes out with, I have my doubts.

The Twitter purchase was pure arrogance. To throw in some insane purchase figure and then not do due diligence isn't the sign of a genius who is playing 4d chess. He isn't the first and won't be the last of very clever people to believe their own hype and fall victim to their own hubris.

He just needed something to feed his ego and make him top of the headlines again, and doing due diligence would’ve taken too long.

One of the many subjects he’s an idiot in is the law, obviously.

Judging by many posts across the internet suggesting Musk is an idiot, a lousy business man, a loser, riding the coat tales of those who are not, can I expect to see him posting in a "Cost of energy" thread somewhere asking how best to eke out his last therm of energy? Or will has rare moments of (no doubt assisted) financial lucidity see him through this crisis...? ;)

Tesla wouldn't really exist without the US government and carbon credits, essentially a company brought about through the lopsided welfare system that gives already rich people even more money and never allows them to fail.

You do post some ridiculous and embittered rubbish. The history of the world is littered with the wealthy failing spectacularly, aristocrats losing vast estates, business men going from untold wealth to next to nothing, lottery winners endowed with millions with no effort other thsan to buy a lucky ticket who lose the lot within a few hell's a poppin' years.

You know most of Tesla's money comes from selling carbon credits to other car manufacturers right?

It came though, in spades. Musk seized the opportunity. To say the man's an idiot is just plain ridiculous. Eccentric, egotistical, arrogant, a narcotics user, fair enough. An idiot? Nah, not having that...

Yeah, agreed. He's lost the plot a bit on Twitter though I think. The kitchen sink gag was writing on the wall for me.

One of us is his target audience, the other isn't :D

I don't really have a horse in the race, if Twitter ceased to exist tonight it would have literally zero effect on my life, happiness or amusement. In fact, I actually think its demise would not be a bad thing at all, people need to apply themselves in a more useful and generally financially bettering way with their time, than bleating in self indulgent verbal diarrhoea.
