The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Either that or the only ones not fired, those who churn out loads of lines of code are now in charge of everything else
I mean stick coders in charge of , real estate, payroll, HR, legal, finance, etc... what could go wrong?
How hard can it be to do HR, I mean they don't even code!

Seriously though it does rather demonstrate the mess twitter is in, as even assuming Musk was "given bad info" there are questions about how did someone get it that badly wrong given Twitter would have had a functioning HR system that should have allowed a name look up and the info, unless the person who did the look up didn't understand the system in which case it begs the question about what else is not being understood.

Apparently there is at least one other person in the same sort of situation, another twitter employee who is there because their company was bought out by twitter and they were the founder of it, thus likely in the same position.

I mean we all joke about "HR" and "H&S" being useless but they do actually have a function, and pretty much any company that thinks they can do away with them is in for a nasty shock, the only question is usually if it's before or after the lawsuits/investigations into major injuries.

A few years ago the company I worked for got taken over by another company with a know it all management team.

Despite me telling them that the HR system was key to the business and they couldn't take it down without much planning, they did.

This resulted in system access, premises access and payroll runs all falling over.

They rolled out their 'superior solution' about 5 weeks later, oddly enough it didn't fix the issues because non of the key fields in the database or connections to the legacy systems had been considered and replicated.

I quit.

Yes it is one rule for them and another rule for everyone else.

Yeah, that's basically life, money gives you freedom. You don't need to be a billionaire though, the Icelandic guy had the freedom to call out Elon Musk on Twitter without needing to beg for his job back because he has money. I can tell my manager to go **** himself if I really wanted to because I have savings set aside. If you don't have money then you're at the behest of other people.

For a minute there I thought you mis-interpreted that the "Icelandic guy" (Halli) was begging for his job back.

I think it's done on purpose where management **** people off.

Yeah same happened to me.
Company (quite liked working there) got bought out. And new management came in and stamped all over it.
Didn't really want to leave but told my Old manager "can you even tell me if my job is safe?". She couldn't due to new management.

Seeing as I was under a year I knew I could be got rid of very quickly . I'd have stayed if they could have reassured me. But it was limbo for too long. (ironically, my job was safe in the end)
Apparently everyone in data side left bar 1 or 2 over next 6 months.

Ceo said "if they don't like it. I hope they leave". I'm sure process was like it was to drive people out. We had a lot of benefits which were all taken away. Was all legal. But was very much a nice company to work for being sucked up by a corporate giant.

Due to his recent Twitter dribbling, this article reared its head again; it seems Musk was a bit of a ***** when he was younger -
He [Errol Musk] also recalled a time when Elon made a hurtful comment to a schoolmate about his father's suicide.
The boy pushed Elon down a staircase at school, injuring him so badly he had to be hospitalised.
When he heard what had happened, Errol wanted to defend his son.
"But I realised Elon overstepped the mark with this little boy. I had to drop it," he said.

Yes it is one rule for them and another rule for everyone else.

Its very situationally dependent though.
Typically it will work for them that way as individuals (baring obvious murder etc)

In business less so unless they are just wanting to waste money.

When someone (such as Elon) blurs the lines thats when it will typically not go too well.

We're now dragging up stories of things he did as a child, there's really no limits to demonising people for certain groups is there

You really are hilarious. He lied in a book he made while an adult and made it look like he was being bullied but it was him doing the bullying. Just like now.

He hates people because he knows most sensible people think he is a ****.

Yes Tony, he isn't the only person who hates people is he?
