The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

Slightly off topic.

I find it interesting that the BBC journalist who specifically is the main journo in this area went specifically to San Fran, and tried to setup a meeting with Elon. He blanked her. She even did a Twitter poll in the same fashion as he did in order to try to attract his attention.
It came back something like 88% he should sit down for an interview.
Then a couple of weeks later, on a whim he decided to rush an interview with a local BBC person.

Call me suspicious if you want, but its almost like he didn't want to sit in front of a person who actually was a subject matter expert and would ask him the right questions.

…or he was just busy? I don’t know, do you?

Maybe, she was there for a while though. Around a week I think.
And its not like they (twitter) came back with Soz busy! maybe we can let you know another time.

They (twitter) blanked her.

On balance I would say my vote would go to he was scared as opposed to busy.

If he was busy at the time he could have done what the likes of other, less busy people such as Bill Gate, Steve Jobs, the President of the United States do and arranged it for a date that was convenient for him. Reporters tend to be quite happy to work around the schedules of busy people, and will if need be go out of their way to do so if it means getting one.

If the BBC sent their 'misinformation' reporter to interview any of the above, I certainly missed it. So possibly he was'nt busy and just did'nt want to engage with someone who had preconcieved ideas. Who knows? Certainly not anyone here, or me for that matter. But it's as good as an explanation as any.

They had Bill Gates on Hardtalk which is one of the interview programmes where they usually give the interviewee quite a hard time...

The "misinformation" reporter is relatively friendly by comparison and concentrates on things like what companies are doing to stop "fake news", something that is increasingly becoming important with the likes of the "deepfake" apps and the ability for people to easily manipulate voice/images.

Again your bias is oozing out

She isn't the 'misinformation' reporter

She is the Disinformation & Social media reporter.

After experiencing the last time wasting idiot from the BBC who also had the timerity to try and be clever with him perhaps he is taking the same stance with a further interview request from the BBC any sensible person would. Politely being "unavailable" is probably media speak for **** *** :)

Again, just to highlight.
The BBC reporter who he didn't allow to interview him was BEFORE the BBC interview he gave.

Hopefully you can see the point I have "subtly" reinforced.

Sigh - I should have read the title of the thread.

Totally, and again why my view is he ran scared.
Total non biased - amiright?

And as a reporter specialising in social media pretty much one of the best reporters to do an interview with someone who owns a social media company.
Well, the others you mention get the hardhitters and Musk gets the social media hack just out of work experience. I mean, I'd probably be a bit miffed too. And I have no doubt Musk has an ego.

I really don't care about Musk as a person - I find what he's achieved impressive however. But what is mildly interesting is the large amount of online hate he seems to have garnered recently, particulary evidenced by the groupthink here (and elsewhere). Sure he seems to have said a few stupid things (pedo guy - right?) but I'm not getting the hate?

Is it because he let the orange bad man back on twitter or something? Or do you lot just hate people who disagree with you?

It's almost as if you didn't read the correction above your post before you started throwing out the 'anti-woke' Buzzword Bingo word salad.

Also, the whole 'hate' thing has been done and has been patiently debunked many times before in this thread.

All in all, I'd suggest being more informed before wading in.

You probably should yeah, it started with being the left for some reason, then really should have been the right when it got amended to insert demographic.

Lol. I mean its quite sad anyone is going with the orange man bad thing still. He WAS demonstratably bad. Anyone who doesn't get that by now must have been living under a rock or something.

Exactly.

obviously hadn't scanned other relevant articles by journalist interviewing musk https://muckrack.com/james-clayton/articles
Had been curious if Musk chosen him because of shared views of dogs and the questions on emotions.

e: arbitrary article from clayton, as much pedigree as the Specialist

Bruising, damaging, relentless. TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew faced four-and-a-half hours of questioning at a US congressional hearing on Thursday.
