Is SpaceX now profitable?
There was a point a few/handful of years back where they were allegedly haemorrhaging money even though they had client launches and, supposedly Starlink and Starship are doing something similar now.

Although there is that famous quote from Musk, and a few others i believe, that the success of SpaceX came down to a single Falcon (1 i believe) launch and the company would have folded if the launch wasn't successful.
Falcon 9 is profitable and profitable at 2/3rds the cost of the next best in market. SpaceX is investing a lot, Starship is being largely internally funded and it is costing a lot. Starlink likewise is costing a lot but is within grasp of creating a satellite internet monopoly that will require serious money to dislodge. If they succeed at Starlink and Starship they will be in substantial position to undercut everyone else in the market more so than they are doing already. Their customers may be heavily Government but it's not subsidy anymore.

Without Carbon Credit sales it would have folded. Those Credits are given to Tesla for free by governments. You were claiming the general public supported his companies by buying his products, the public made up a tiny fraction of the money that kept Tesla going, certainly in the early years when car sales were crap. Even now those credit sales are what keep Tesla profitable, though that is changing as other car makers are no longer needing to buy them as they are making EV.

And he didn't put his entire personal wealth into Tesla, a lot went into developing SpaceX and the first Falcon rocket, once it finally made it to orbit NASA funding supported SpaceX.

What is it about Elon Musk that makes you want to denigrate his achievements? Maybe look deep inside yourself and ask why you're doing it.

I have to say though Elon pretending to be a democrat until he is outed as a sex pest decides to go to the party that might respect him for it is fitting. I bet he got high fives from them.

No its far from profitable but its value of $74b makes up a nice chunk of his wealth.

Starlink and Starship are consuming money at what appears to be frightening rates.

Yeah they were down to their last rocket, whether SpaceX would have gone under we'll never know but it appears it was close. Musk is a great salesman so we don't know how much he's embellished the story.

Are you replying to the right person or are you just your normal miserable self? If any user had the right username on this forum its you

Maybe you need to read my comments on him in this and other threads. I fully respect what he has done with SpaceX , I'm a huge SpaceX fan. I also respect what he's done with Tesla, though Tesla holds little interest for me. So where you think I have denigrated his his achievements is beyond me, he has relied on government money and credits to get where he is though, to attempt to say differently is just ignoring reality.

It's hilarious that Musk is desperately trying to pretend this sexual harassment scandal is a dirty Democrat smear campaign they've just invented, when his own company records show that (a) it occurred several years ago (so clearly not invented by the Democrats) and (b) the accuser was paid off by Tesla, which could not have been done without Musk's authority.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt.

He must be regretting put $1 in to Twitter stock, let alone around $3b which if my (probably wrong) maths says his 9% cost him.

What do you mean by proportionally? You mean split 100b between all employees or something?

Exactly this. In an ideal world there would be laws that gave employees a greater share in a companies success. I would go so far as to say that billionaires are a failure of society.
