HILARIOUS JOKES, YOU GUYS HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOUR AND HATE MUSK.

Is what someone whose name rhymes with bore, might say.

Calling people having fun immature looool

Haters be like: He doesn't have a pride flag as his background and he's making immature jokes :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I wasn't far off

I wasn't far off

I did read your response Vincent. Why are you angry that Elon Musk is joking around on Twitter? A lot of people find it funny, not just me. The joke is that he's pretending to act like the parody account. It's called being jovial and not taking yourself too seriously, try it once in a while.

Threads signed up 100 million in 5 days. Impressive

Edit - Sorry, I mean "How dare the BBC report on a record breaking app launch! Why aren't they supporting Twitter?!"

Some Twitter users have become disenchanted since billionaire Elon Musk took over. Thousands of jobs have been cut under his ownership and he has announced a number of changes to help generate revenue at Twitter.

Nice BBC.

But Facebook is also laying off a load of staff?

What's actual engagement like within threads? I've seen screenshots of some of the bigger names to have have joined barely getting triple figure response to their posts (threets?)

The joke is that Musk is the joke. The fact you cant see it makes you the butt of that joke.

Musk added over boos, “Thanks for having me up on stage. Dave, what should I say?”

Chappelle replied, “Don’t say nothing. It’ll only spoil the moment. Do you hear that sound, Elon? That’s the sound of pending civil unrest.

Yes, which they reported as news at the time.

BBC covered it previously, twice.

I think the key point is Meta have a plan for job losses that they need to make. Which is probably why only 4k of 10k have been identified.

It isn't quite the same as someone unilaterally terminating loads of jobs without an informed plan.

The college student whose Twitter account monitored the course of Elon Musk’s private jet has moved his tracking project to Meta’s newly launched Threads.

On Thursday, Jack Sweeney, a Florida college student and aviation enthusiast, launched his first post on Threads under the handle @elonmusksjet after Twitter suspended his tracking operation last December.

“ElonJet has arrived to Threads!” Sweeney wrote in the post which has since garnered over 7,700 likes and over 200 replies on Twitter’s newest rival.

In a following post, Sweeney addressed Meta’s founder Mark Zuckerberg, writing: “@zuck will I be allowed to stay.” The tongue-in-cheek post appears to be a subtle jab at Twitter boss Elon Musk, who suspended Sweeney’s jet-tracking account last year after imposing new conditions on all of Twitter’s users that the sharing of anyone’s current location was prohibited.

Musk’s decision to suspend Sweeney’s account last year came shortly after he promised not to, saying last November: “My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk.”

Musk later said: “Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation. This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info.” He vowed legal action against Sweeney, who he said “supported harm to my family”.

As a percentage, Facebook laid off far fewer staff
And appear to have actually understood which staff they were firing and haven't had to scramble around to try and get back key staff that they fired because the boss didn't care about who they fired.

IIRC Twitter is down to around 10-15% of it's old staff, with most/all of several very important teams gone, including most of the senior/experienced staff who knew the key systems properly.

Does meta have lots of job opportunities on threads though - to accelerate the windows version and embed option;

can you link threads from tweets, the ultimate ignominy , verbotten ?

Yes, but they chose to specifically mention Twitter layoffs in the story about Threads without mentioning the fact that Meta also made and is making thousands of staff redundant.

If I had only read the story that was linked then I wouldn't know Meta had also made a load of people redundant.

Maybe because threads is a direct competitor to twitter but the meta layoffs were in other areas?

They forgot to mention ASDA are laying some staff off as well. Bloody BBC!
