I am never reactivating my X account.

This is how far Musk has sunk. Four of the worst people on the planet, including himself. He is so desperate for traffic, it's almost pitiable.

Wow I'd like to say I can't believe he has sunk that low but I'm not actually surprised. He has daughters doesn't he? Why would a father of girls appear with a man like Tate, an abuser and exploiter of women

When the owner of the platform claims his platform is the ultimate source of truth and yet posts misinformation himself and promotes other accounts that do the same it makes such a statement laughable.

Why does it do that? Apparently promoting in this case was directly questioning some tweet in the comments and that tweet was community noted; not seeing the issue w.r.t the platform there.

Community notes is good, though Elon is now questioning it because he doesn't like the note. Its not like serious news organisations don't have fact checkers though. Of course there is truth on twitter but there is so much more nonsense and misinformation.

So what, the note is still there, the platform is working - if you're going to claim the platform is bad then why not address that instead of conflating it with Elon and what he personally tweets? He was a prominent account before he owned Twitter and he's carried on tweeting as usual.

Re: Elon's claims that Twitter is a "source of truth" he seems to be referring to the community notes feature:

I don't really see the issue with that claim, that feature seems pretty robust and is deliberately designed to take into account views from across the political spectrum, high-quality sources, ensuring the note directly addresses the claim or provides important context etc.. are valued as part of the rating system too. Just because people don't like Elon or don't like his personal opinions or issues he questions or blunders into doesn't really negate that, he's been like all along since pre-ownership too.

You're so disingenuous, you mean they're taking books off the school library shelves that teach 12 year old kids how to have gay sex and masturbate, and ones that groom kids into thinking that they're the opposite sex and it's ok to mutilate your genitals because they sometimes play with barbies

No wonder they asked for the Bible to be taken off the shelves then.

Wonder how much further Elon needs to go before the EU outright ban X.

Deactivated my account yesterday, will close once 30 days passes.

So pathetic and intolerant. You would love that wouldn't you.
Elon wants it to follow the U.S law. If you have a problem with that change the U.S law and constitution.

I doubt an X ban would happen as all Hollywoke would lose their millions of followers and would start crying.

Alex Jones was saying how many times the main stream have lied to him WMD Iraq etc and he started questioning everything.

I'm not in the US and if he wants to operate in the EU he needs to follow EU law.

And basically your test of that is

Influential person A said something that offended me and I didn't like it.
Can you not see the issue with that !!

This week you cannot say this word.
This week you cannot like this company, and if you do you are linked to them and you are a fascist promoting hate speech etc etc.

He's more than happy to help governments like Saudi Arabia or India go after their 'critics' so following other western countries laws is hardly a stretch.

Is that true? I’ve only ever seen him say that he wants maximum free speech within local (i.e. both US and foreign) laws.

Musk X complies with almost every foreign government takedown and data request (a far greater percentage than under its previous leadership). The top three countries for takedowns were Germany, Turkey and India.
