The ongoing Elon Twitter saga: "insert demographic" melts down

That'd be a book that the author asserts isn't for children, yeah?

For parents and for older teens. Not children. And if children genuinely were reading it, then that's on the supervising adults in their lives.
Except it's been found in school libraries, even here in the UK.. (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...MS-asks-know-whats-childs-school-library.html)

I'm sure the presence in schools may be hugely exaggerated, but do you think it's wrong to say that any school should have this?

and why can't high school students read these books? The Handmaid's Tale, 2001 A Space Odyssey or Catch 22. And that is just 3 books that I saw, there are plenty of others that I can't see any rational reason why they would be banned from 15-18 years sold.
Because the left pushed 'porn' to kids and this led to a very (no doubt religious) group reviewing content and deciding books with sexual conduct had no place in school.. Which incidentally made a mockery of the progressives usual existential crying in their panties meltdown that it was all about being Anti-LGBT when in actual fact is was just anti-anything-too-sexually related... hence many non LGBT themed books also being banned..

Can we stop with the utterly Bizarre branding of people being lefties when they disagree with Musk and what hes doing.

Its plain dumb. I am a proper rightie and many people I know who also are are just as bemused by Musk.

I mean I agree hes seemingly moved right quite hard himself, but people seem to infer the majority have moved left, we haven't.

Err, the rolling stone are a left wing outfit (citation), they inferred it was a meltdown, so I think it's OK to bring in left wing context in terms of meltdowns in context of their story, i.e. it wasn't a meltdown, it was some very tame responses to a deeply inflammatory post..

The last sentence is the one not aimed at the left specifically..

So making fun of a car that is dangerous to others now leftist? Was advocating for seat belts leftist? Was advocating for steering wheels not ramming into the chest of the driver in a head on leftist? Car safety is now leftist
As mentioned, the left wing thing is specific to rolling stones definition of 'meltdown'.. nothing to do with safety or anything else.

The rolling stones seem to have mainly reported fact from my reading of that article. Sure its got a bit of journalistic interpretation but the main article seems to be factually based.
They point out the origins of the group, the work the group do.
They mention the tweet and the responses to the tweet.
They mention how long the group has been around and picking a fight with that group has historically not been a good idea.

I am struggling to see how thats really anything to do with leftism.

It seems to be the lefty Demons may be in your head in regards this one! ;)

Do I think younger children should be reading it? No. Would I have a problem with people getting towards the end of their school education in this country/HS seniors in the US reading it? Also no, which by happy coincidence is one of the target audiences.

As I said:

As I said:

There are two aspects to this.
1. It was over 18 content put in to spaces that made it accessible to under 18s
2. It was in schools where parents did not get to decide if their child should or shouldn't have access.

I'm perfectly fine that once someone is 18, then I'm pretty sure that parents or not, it's down to them what they read.. so we agree!

And I also agree that over 18 material of this type should not be available in schools to under 18s..

Sounds reasonable to me.

Musk started a spat with Rolling stone over a 'left/right' issue and this has carried on for a while now, they are a left wing outlet, they very much disagree with Musk and his right wing 'views'..

I'm not sure what kind of logic you are trying to apply here that the very disingenuous headline which you attribute to "journalistic interpretation" isn't formed because of that.

Musk deserves plenty of criticism and discussion, but if you want to rag on him based on that quality of disingenuous article, sure, it makes you look very rational, balanced and fair..

So I am still struggling with what your writing and how it aligns with that article.
Can you break it down a bit, where are the issues with that article and what they have written?

Because like I said, the Demons seem to be in your head and not in their article.

Why are these people so obsessed with trans people? It's like their whole identity is built around it.
Fear, they probably wear their wife/girlfriend/sister’s pants when she is out and are terrified their alpha friends will find out and mock them. That and the endless grift that is exploiting the terminally stupid.

Yea, terminally stupid things like saying you can change your literal biological sex.

My wife's knickers feel lovely on my cheeks.

But why be so obsessed about it? I don't think someone's inherent/biological sex can be changed either, but I don't give a **** if someone wants to try and change their bodily features, and wants to identify as a different gender.

It just simply doesn't matter or affect me in any way.

What irritates me about the far rights argument over transgender people even more, is that they try to frame it as a mental health issue/an affront to science and nature....except these are the same people who are massively religious and therefore believe in all sorts of complete garbage like talking snakes, magic, the world only being a few thousand years old etc etc. Is science and "nature" important or not? Apparently it isn't, so why worry so much about what transgender people get up to with their bodies?
