The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

yeah you should be good for another 200mhz or more with a vcore boost, just keep an eye on temps.

lol these ASrock Dual Satas kick ass just noticed this page alone has 5 guys with them. I fancy one to run my spare opty :)

Asus AN8-Ultra
CABNE 0530 APMW Stepping
currently got it clocked to 2.61GHz stable on prime95 for 15 hours
ran superpi 32mb in 28mins 42.672secs, 1mb in 32.156secs
The cooling is a VapochillMicro Extrme Performance (noisy git) which i'm not all that happy with, it "seems" to idle at about 40 degrees C but the monitoring program is a bit iffy. Vcore is set to 1.475V, but runs at 1.5V more often than not (again according to an Abit monitoring program) I have the chipset voltage at max 1.8V

I had 2.7GHz and 2.8GHz Running out of this, but a) the temps were high b)the system was very unstable, wouldn't even finish SuperPi without rebooting.

Well i've got my Opty 165 at 2.2Ghz at stock volts. It's in an Asus A8N-SLI Premium.

244*9 HTT 4 Need to sort the memory out because CpuZ says it's runnning at 122Mhz!!! Just a case of playing with the divider. This is certainly a lot faster than my Winnie 3200+ at 2.2Ghz. It really flies along and well worth the £230 i paid.

Once i've got it benched and i'm happy with it i'll post some screenshots.

EDIT - My stepping is CCBWE 0551 can't remember the rest. I'll have a proper play now and see what it'll do.

My CAB2E on the Asus A8N32:
What sticks of RAM are u running hottiger?

I'm having some issues while using dividers and high HTT, on my third set now but all from Crucial, looking for a nice 2GB set that have no problems running dividers. . .

has anybody had any goes at overclocking the fx57 on air, I seemed to reach 3.2 and cant get past, running a 15.5 multi i can hit 3.2 or or running 235 fsb with a 166 divider and a lower multi, but it still wont let me pass it 3.2, the temp dont make any diffs between 2.8 and 3.2 it just unstable, it not heat, so just not sure, any help on this 33 idle 44-45 100% load

I'm actually doing mine atm..bit late as this thread is now 70 pages big, lol. Anyhoo...

Got my HTT on auto/stock. (does it matter...?)

I'm currently on 1.5v's + 0.025 cpu voltage

My FSB is at 260mhz and my cpu is at 2.6ghz ('m going to have to lower it i think for 2.8 on 11x)

My ram atm, is on (i think 133 divider) the frequency is 173mhz atm, but i can put my divider up one once ive got my final overclock, right? or should i leave it as it is? the voltage is also 2.7

I'm running prime95 and so far so good, i've passed 12 tests over the last half hour-hour and its still going.

Kinda worried about my cpu temp though, atm, its kinda jumping from 37c-38c on full load. thats 99f-100f

sorry, outburst over

Not a problem. I've lowered my HTT to 3x. I get my FSB up to 255mhz (2.8ghz on the cpu) but p95 errors straight away assuming this means a very unstable chip. Atm, i have the fsb at 245mhz (2.7ghz) and am running p95 and have no errors yet. Should i just take it on the chin and accept i cant get 2.8?

I have the impression that 2Gb ram limits the overclock. I could be way off, it may be nothing of the sort, but at one point I was running 1Gb and 3Ghz cpu (mostly 1Gb + 256Mb, so not dual channel), now Im running 2Gb with 2.7Ghz speed.

Really you notice nothing at all apart from 1000pts in 3dmark2001.

My Dual core 165 jumps from 28c idle to 44c under load. I guess that is normal.
Also when running two instances of PI I instantly get an error like this:

Why does PI fail instantly with two instances? I tried with different tests, same thing.
