The Opteron Skt 939 Overclocking thread !!!!

I got my 146 to 2.7Ghz on an ASRock Dual SATA board. I am using an Arctic Freezer Pro 64 on it and I ran Prime95 Blend for 11 hours and its max temp was 36 degrees. Not bothered going any further becuase I think thats good enough, as according to SiSoft its almost an FX-57, in fact beating it on MIPS. :p

The model of this 146 is CAB2E 0546.

I have mine also at 2.7 any higher and it wont boot, Thats with a Artic Freezer Pro as well. Also ASRock Dual sata. My max temp after a few hours of BF2 is around 38*c. Im happy for the money, Dont think ill get any more out of it though. I have standard Bios, p1.40. dont see any reason to change BIOS as it works fine at the moment.

Phunky, this is what i changed, bear in mind i had P1.40 BIOS though

Overclock mode cpu,PCIE Async
CPU frequency 270
Memory clock 133
cpu NB Link speed 600
cpu NB link width 16 bit
NB SB Link speed 600
NB SB width 16 bit
DRAM Voltage HIGH

and no i have not touched the vcore, left it as normal, 1.4 i think

maybe this may help you ????

What Bio's and Setting you using to get 2.7 on the ASRock?

Ive got the 150 bios on and cant get it to hit above 2.65, not got my floopy drive in atm so cant flash the beta bio's on :/

Just the one it came with, 1.4b I think it says on the driver disc. I went straight to 250 clock, tested that, then 260 then 270 and they all went fine, with my Geil Value 2gig kit running at the 166 divider. I just put the vots to max (1.45v) and 270 was fine.

I did the same apart from my mem clock is at 166, and all those other numbers I just left because I dont know what they mean. :p

neither did i. Someone on this forum wrote it down for me and it worked fine, as i am new to OC, I can only say i am gratefull for there knowledge

but GLASGOW titan,

what would happen if i changed memory clock from 133 to 166 then ? I dont know myself, nor do i have the foggiest what it would do or does.

And your superPi result is exactly the same as mine 1MB @ 32seconds.

Whats your cpu idle at ? Mine (using everest) is @ 32*c @1.42vCore

I've managed to get mine prime stable at 2.9Ghz in the last few days. It will boot into windows at 2950Mhz, but no higher. Still only putting 1.4v through the chip so I may need to increase it to 1.5 before I see 3Ghz. great chips these :D

Help me hit 2.6!

Right, I can do this:

It is also stable at 258*10, but 260*10 is a no go. My Ram's on a 133 divider, HT multi is at 3, voltage is as high as it will go - the next notch up is 1.6V and that's far too much for my liking. It just isn't Prime stable for longer than 10min at 2.6. What else could I do? Is it my temps perhaps, I mean the thing hits 55 under load which I know is high, but it shouldn't stop it being stable at 2.6 right?

thanks

It's a Biostar TForce 6100 mATX. It's actually the best mATX board on the market and has loads of features for overclocking. Unfortunately chipset voltage is not one of them:(. What's LDT?

cheers

2.95 stable at the mo on Asrock Dual with OCW beta 2 bios @ just over 1.5v on Arctic cooler.

Gets into windows at well over 3 gig, so hoping for from it soon. :)

I thought the ASRock board has a 274 clock limit on it? How did you get 2.95Ghz?

Ecit - D'oh, what processor you using, one with a high multi?

how can you get more than me then ? I am new to OC, i have the asrock dual, opteron 146, anymore than 270 and it wont post, so have to settle on 2.70Ghz on 1.4vcore, on BIOS p1.40 ?

Will my opteron 146 then do more on air ? i also have the AC Frezzer 64 pro
