The ORange Box on STEAM!!!!

Sure it may be a good price, but lets think about this. Episode 1 was pants, it was an incredibly short, on rails interactive movie. Epeisode 2 may be the same, who knows. Most people already have HL2 as well, so basically you're paying for a game or two you already own, an expansion and TF2. I personally think its a big con but thats just my opinion

I think it is worth the money personally, as I'd say most people here did enjoy Episode One, it was short, but it was a good game while it lasted, like Blue Shift. Plus, closer to the time you wont have to buy it with Half-Life 2 and Episode One together with it, so it'll likely be cheaper. At least we get the option to give away the HL2 and Ep1, unlike the old Steam days where you would just overwrite games you already owned. Don't forget Portal as well, though I'm not expecting that to be long or that brilliant, a gimmick that runs out quick methinks.

I tend to judge the price of games against the enjoyment factor I will get or hope to get from the game in question and altho' I'm not rolling in money, £27 is a very small amount of money compared to the potential fun factor I might have with TF2.

If I get even 50% of the enjoyment from TF2 as I got from HL / TFC I'll be very happy. Like a lot of you I started TFC when it was first released and I got more online fun from it than any other online game. (and yes I know TFC was a free mod / add-on but it still needed HL to play)

My hope is TF2 will inject some well needed team based fun into PC online gaming once again, hopefully in much the same way TFC did and altho' it may not reach the dizzy heights of popularity as TFC, I'm willing to gamble £27 just to see ... I can hope can't I :)

I'm a bit worried about TF2. I hated TFC when it came out, as I'd been a hardcore QWTF player and there were big differences between the play styles. Luckily, there were enough people new to the Fortress gameplay to keep it going.
Most of the TF2 playerbase will have played TFC and if the difference between TF2 and TFC is as great as it was between QWTF and TFC then they might get annoyed with it pretty quick. Hopefully they'll give it a chance (as I should have done with TFC) and not just abandon it as not bringing back the moments they remember in TFC.

I just pre ordered the orange box but already own boxed copies of HL2 and Episode 1 will i now be able to pass these on to someone or will they still be registered to me, if so how can I un register them.

Thanks in advance

You can gift HL2 and Ep1 separately to other people's Steam accounts if you already own them, to avoid duplicating these new purchases.

That's nice, but being born in '85, you missed the best days of TFC as they'd probably all moved on from it by the time you played. :)
He's only a year younger than me, and I was playing TFC as soon as it was released for quite some time, so it's easily possible, however very big headed of himself :p

6th actually

I started playing tfc in possibly 99, yeah definatly 99 I think...I started a few months before they changed the scores to the prettier GUI
